Lapua 's New TrueRange Expanding Ammo Line

Lapua has a new line of projectiles, and ammunition loaded with it. The TrueRange Expanding projectile is a lead free copper bullet with a polymer tip that initiates expansion on impact. There will also be a few initial ammunition offerings featuring this TRX projectile.

Marketing images from Lapua show expansion as slow as 1640 FPS, and weight retention of 99%.

Lapua has three TRX component bullets in this initial release:

• 6.5mm 120-grain, .428 G1 BC
• .308 150-grain, .384 G1 BC
• .308 165-grain, .490 G1 BC

Three loaded ammunition options using the TRX bullet are also coming soon. Those include:

• 6.5 Creedmoor 120-grain
• 6.5x55 Swede 120-grain
• 308 Winchester 165-grain

This ammo is loaded with Vihtavuori powder, and features the patented Air Lock technology that makes the ammunition waterproof for hunting in wet conditions. Lapua's website states that more loadings are coming in the future, and we will be sure to post those when details are available.
