You may know the KelTec RDB, but you have never seen a bullpup moving quite as fast as this one. These photos were taken during the Rifle World Shoot in Finland, at Stage 19 which seems to have been a lot of competitor’s favorite stage. The competitor is Joe Easter from the U.S. National Team in Semi Auto Standard, and the team managed a silver medal after the Finns. As you can see, the KelTec has been modified, and we’ll get back to those details in a future interview with Joe.

Here’s a U.S. soldier’s reaction after firing an M1 Garand during the Friendship Shoot that concluded the 2024 European Best Sniper Team Competition. The location is the Joint Multinational Readiness Center (JMRC) in Hohenfels, Germany. The European Best Sniper Team Competition is a U.S. Army Europe and Africa led, JMRC-hosted annual event testing the marksmanship, physical prowess, and technical expertise of sniper teams across Europe. During the 2024 event, 35 teams from 19 NATO Allies and Partner countries competed to become the best European sniper team.

Photo Of The Day and we look at the SA80A3 with the SMASH Smart Weapon Sight Fire Control System aiming for a small drone. This smart sight equips dismounted soldiers with enhanced accuracy for engaging micro and mini UAVs or drones. The sight can identify, track, and lock onto moving targets, maintaining precision even if the user or target shifts position.

For the first time, we have Ríkislögreglan or the National Icelandic Police in our Photo Of The Day. They’re using the SIG Sauer MCX in these images, with Aimpoint red dots and magnifiers. Icelandic police officers typically carry only extendable batons and pepper spray while on duty. Most patrol vehicles are however equipped with firearms, and the officers are trained on how to use them.

After some rough days on some of the long-range stages, he fought back and ended up on the podium after Todd Jarret and Jerry Miculek in Super Senior.

The French Army sent a souvenir from the 2024 Summer Olympics, and because we like firearms it’s a pretty good share for the readers of TFB’s Photo Of The Day. There are at least four Heckler & Koch HK416F rifles in this image, with both EOTech and Aimpoint sights. I spot more empty holsters than Glocks. Can you see it as well? (Hint: second from the left).

For today’s Photo Of The Day, we have pictures of a Holland & Holland shotgun that has color added to some elements of its engravings. This shotgun was commissioned by an American customer. Holland & Holland had never used color in the engravings of their guns before so the company mastered a new technique and now offers the colored engravings as an option for their flagship Royal guns.

Here we have U.S. Marines with the M27 Reconnaissance Weapons Kit (RWK) variant of the M27 / HK416 with an 11.0” barrel, Trijicons and lasers. The location is Aberdeen Proving Ground (APG), which is a major United States Army installation located in Harford County, Maryland, near the town of Aberdeen. Established in 1917, it serves as one of the Army's oldest active proving grounds, with a primary mission focused on the research, development, testing, and evaluation of weapons, equipment, and technology.

Photo Of The Day and we take a look at the Szép M1. To my knowledge, it’s the first time we have this rifle in any of our POTDs. The Szép is used by the Hungarian Army in caliber 7.62x51mm NATO.

Photo Of The Day and we take a look at the Beretta ARX160 in action. Here it can be seen aboard the U.S. Navy Arleigh Burke-class guided-missile destroyer USS Dewey (DDG 105) during a visit, board, search and seizure drill in the Philippine Sea, 2024. The Beretta ARX160 was developed for the Italian Armed Forces as part of the "Soldato Futuro" project and was launched in 2008. Fast forward to 2024, and it still looks modern.

Photo Of The Day and we take a look at the MG3, made by Rheinmetall, in anti-aircraft training. Note the ammunition, which looks like it’s partly made out of plastic. The MG3 is a belt-fed machine gun developed in Germany, derived from the WWII-era MG42. It’s known for its high rate of fire (up to 1,200 rounds per minute) and reliability and comes chambered in 7.62×51mm NATO. The MG3 is widely used for infantry, vehicle-mounted, and anti-aircraft roles, remaining a staple in many armed forces globally.

If your last try at learning the Italian language and culture failed, there’s some hope in this Photo Of The Day, where we admire the latest creation from SK Customs. This gun is a tribute to the works of Raffaello Sanzio da Urbino, generally known as Raphael.

Photo Of The Day and we have some interesting images from the Danish International Sniper Competition (DISC 24). These are from the Sniper Race Finale, which is the last event where the competitors have to cover 10 kilometers and 6 different shooting ranges. We’re looking at the Swedish Sniper Team in their M/90 camouflage pattern. What’s unusual is that they’re using the Colt Canada C20 which is not part of their normal arsenal. It could be a Danish rifle, on loan for the event? Another oddity is to use a normal mount on the C20, and Cantilever on the M10, when the other way around would make much more sense.

Photo Of The Day and we are back in Denmark, where a U.S. Army sniper at the Danish International Sniper Competition fires his SR-25 (Stoner Rifle-25) designated marksman rifle. This rifle was designed by Eugene Stoner and is manufactured by Knight's Armament.

Today's captivating photo captures a dynamic moment during the Gabon Joint Combined Exchange Training (JCET) 2024, held near Libreville, Gabon. In this Photo Of The Day, members of the Gabonese Defense and Security Forces are seen executing a simulated raid alongside the U.S. Army 3rd Special Forces Group (Airborne). This joint exercise, conducted on July 2, 2024, is designed to enhance military-to-military relationships and improve joint readiness and interoperability between the U.S. and Gabonese forces.
