POTD: Nocpix ACE50R Thermal Riflescope On Suppressed Ruger Rifle

Photo Of The Day where we take a closer look at the new Thermal Riflescope from Nocpix. This model is called ACE 50R, and as the sun dips below the horizon and the forest begins to darken, a thermal riflescope becomes any hunter’s greatest ally for hunting wild boar. With daylight fading, these elusive animals come alive under the cover of night, but a thermal turns the tables in my favor.

POTD: Modified Tikka T3x UPR In MDT LSS-XL Chassis

According to Sako, the Tikka T3x UPR (Ultimate Precision Rifle) was designed for shooters who demand exceptional accuracy and reliability. Manufactured by Sako in Finland, it normally features a lightweight carbon-fiber-reinforced stock with an adjustable cheekpiece. The rifle includes a free-floating barrel, reducing vibration and improving precision. In this case, the owner wanted a little more, so an MDT LSS-XL chassis in FDE was purchased and installed. The Ckye Pod bipod is also from MDT.

POTD: The SAR 21 - Singapore Assault Rifle - 21st Century

Let’s not focus on the reported design issues of the SAR 21, and instead enjoy one of the most futuristic service rifles in existence. This is the standard service rifle for the Singapore Armed Forces (SAF), chambered in 5.56×45mm NATO and features durable furniture crafted from high-impact polymer, designed to withstand tough conditions. Its production heavily relies on CNC machining for precision, while the steel-reinforced receiver halves are joined using ultrasonic welding.

POTD: The L85A2 In RAF Photographic Competition 2024

An image from the RAF Photographic Competition 2024, taken by Richard Beattie. As the L1A1 Self-Loading Rifle needed the replacement, it was time for the SA80, short for "Small Arms for the 1980s." Since its introduction in 1987, the L85 rifle, a key variant in the SA80 family, has served as the standard-issue service weapon for the British Armed Forces. I am not sure if it’s visible on whatever device you’re looking at, but there are markings just above the magazine saying: “L85 A2 5.56x45”.

POTD: Alexander the Great by SK Customs

Alexander the Great was a Macedonian king and one of history’s greatest military leaders. By the age of 30, he created one of the largest empires ever, stretching from Greece to Egypt and into the heart of Asia. Renowned for his strategic brilliance, it is said he never lost a battle. His conquests spread Greek culture, leading to the Hellenistic Era, which deeply influenced art, science, and philosophy.

POTD: Barrett MRADELR in 416 Barrett

What a beast of a rifle in today’s Photo Of The Day. We’re talking about the MRADELR, made by Barrett which was introduced about one year ago. As you may know, Barrett has secured their first international government contract with the MRAD Extreme Long Range (MRADELR) sniper system. It’s not yet official who the customer is, but if you see someone looking for large numbers of 416 Barrett it might be a clue.

POTD: KSP 18B in Action - Dillon Aero M134D

The Dillon Aero M134D Minigun is one machine that spits out more material than our Photo Of The Day. In the Swedish Navy, it’s called the KSP 18B, and here you can see it in action in preparation for the Swedish Amphibious Battalion 2030.

POTD: French FN SCAR H PR, FN MAG 58 and HK416F

Someone brought a pretty good camera, a good lens and some skills to document the French 3rd Marine Infantry Parachute Regiment. This is great news for TFB’s Photo Of The Day, as we can share the FN SCAR H PR, the FN MAG 58 and the HK416F pictures with our readers. Going low with a tripod like this is something you should include in your skillset.

POTD: The New Heckler & Koch MR556 A4

I think TFB’s James Reeves took care of the most entertaining part of introducing the new Heckler & Koch MR556 A4 - as in shooting it suppressed. That doesn’t mean that TFB’s Photo Of The Day can’t have a part in its introduction. My own H&K MR223 (EU version) is now going into 15 years of ownership, and while it may not see so much action any longer it’s perhaps for an upgrade?

POTD: Over & Under - The New Beretta 688 Performance

This is TFB’s Photo Of The Day. Do you like to compete in Sporting and Trap? Then this shotgun might be something for you. I sold my Italian over and under hunting shotgun a long time ago. Instead, I bought a Russian Molot Vepr that I did two IPSC Shotgun World Shoots with before I got a bit fed up with competition triggers that didn’t work.

POTD: Multicam Superman & The FN M240L Machine Gun

The “Superman” title isn’t meant as a clickbait, I promise. It’s just the first thing I thought of when I saw the image above, as I was scouting more material for this Photo Of The Day. The images are from the U.S. Army Forces Command (FORSCOM), where indirect-fire infantrymen and cavalry scouts from Headquarters and Headquarters Company, 2nd Battalion, 37th Armor Regiment, 1st Brigade, 1st Armored Division, held an M240L machine gun zeroing and qualifications. I think our “Superman” is deploying a tripod on a timed event, and doing so with full speed.

POTD: Platypus - The 1911 That Takes Glock Magazines

Apart from an appearance in TFB’s HOT GAT or FUDD CRAP (where else?), the Stealth Arms 1911 Platypus completely went past TFB when it was released. This is an excellent opportunity for TFB’s Photo Of The Day, hence what you’re looking at and reading about right now.

POTD: Recon Marines with M27RWK in Latvia
Photo Of The Day. Every Day a Photo. One Day a Photo. No Days without a Photo. In all honesty, we do take a bit of a rest over the weekend, but we’re with you almost every day of the week and we hope you like it. The new M27RWK deserves every bit of attention - even when it’s plugged for blank firing - especially when it swims through the cold sea and appears on the shores of Latvia.

POTD: The PZD Mk24 Light Machine Gun

If the World is low on press releases, rest assured that TFB’s Photo Of The Day keeps rocking your day. Let’s take a closer look at the new PZD Mk24 Light Machine Gun to get to know it a little better. DSS is a young weapons manufacturer based in Prague, but it seems they got off to a great start.

POTD: French FAMAS - U.S. Forces In CQB

The U.S. Forces look a bit unfamiliar with these French FAMAS bullpups, but if you only ever knew about the M4 it’s probably like eating escargots for the first time. As some of you connoisseurs know, French cuisine has a lot to offer if you dare to try, just stay clear of the frog legs. TFB’s Photo Of The Day is at it again, and as the FAMAS is being phased out in most places except in the jungle we feel obliged to share as much as we can of this legendary firearm.

POTD: Tanfoglio Gold Custom Eric - Shooting Open .38 Super Comp

In TFB’s Photo Of The Day, we’re shooting in the Open Division today, with a Tanfoglio Gold Custom Eric. The pistol is chambered in .38 Super Comp and eats major loads like a blue whale consumes krill. For training, there’s also a 9 mm slide and barrel available - with a suitable recoil spring of course. Why does it carry my name? Well, it doesn’t, since it’s named after the French top gun Eric Graufel during his (long) period with the Italian company Tanfoglio. Eric is now with CZ, and I think he has no less than nine IPSC Handgun World Champion titles in total.

POTD: PGM Precision Mini Hécate 2 In .375 Swiss P

POTD: B&T APC223 PDW Tele + Thermal & Predator Ghillie

The B&T APC223 PDW Tele is not something you see every day, and here it is all dressed up for the party with a suppressor and a thermal riflescope. This is excellent news for TFB’s Photo Of The Day, where we just love images like these. The thermal is most likely an Infiray Outdoor RICO2 Series- RH50R, but please correct me if I’m wrong.

POTD: Kenya Defence Forces With FN SCAR

The mission of the Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) is to safeguard the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the Republic of Kenya. They also support and collaborate with other authorities in responding to emergencies or disasters, like the United Nations. In this Photo Of The Day, you can see them working in their somewhat strange (to me at least) camouflage and FN SCARs.

POTD: Foreign Weapons For U.S. Air Commandos

No less than four spent cartridges in the air at the same time is great for TFB’s Photo Of The Day. These images are from the Air Force Special Operations Command Service Member of the Year competition, where nominees are required to shoot over 10 different types of foreign weapons at multiple targets at varying distances. Can I become a nominee too, please?

POTD: Ruger Precision Rifle With Leica PRS 5-30x56i Riflescope

It’s quite seldom we take a look through the riflescope of a gun like this in TFB’s Photo Of The Day, but I guess quite a few of our readers feel the temptation to ring some steel? This Leica sits firmly on top of a Ruger Precision Rifle in .308 Win., and the targets are slightly over 300 meters away. Do you like this kind of reticle for PRS style of shooting?

POTD: FN America LICC IWS

Is this the next FN SCAR? No, it’s not. The IWS (Individual Weapon System) is an entirely new weapon, distinct from the SCAR family. It uses a long-stroke gas piston operating system, which reduces recoil and places less strain on the internal components. The IWS will likely be offered in additional calibers, including 5.56 mm, 7.62 mm, and 6.5 mm Creedmoor as the development and customer interest grows and continues.

POTD: The CZ P-10 C Or The Dumbbell?

It’s been a while since we shared any activity from the NATO enhanced Forward Presence Battle Group in Lithuania, but that doesn’t mean they’re not keeping busy and in shape. In TFB’s Photo Of The Day above you can see an example of this. Would you rather shoot the CZ P-10 C, which is the relatively new Czech Army service pistol, or work the dumbbell like the guy in the background? They ordered 20,000 pistols like this and an additional 1,000 that can use a suppressor. I’ll have one of the Optics-Ready-Suppressor-Ready, please.

POTD: JP Rifles CTR-02 With New Spuhr RDF Aimpoint Mount

Photo Of The Day and today we’re taking the role of a drone, taking a look at a JP CTR-02 rifle and the brand new Spuhr RDF-20225K Aimpoint T-2 Magnifier Mount. The rifle is chambered in .223 Wylde and has a 14.5″ barrel, with a pinned compensator for 16″ OAL. An interesting way to avoid SBRing it, but if I got the chance again I’d order it with an 18” barrel for a much smoother recoil.
