You may have heard that our very own James Reeves, the Managing Producer for TFBTV and occasional writer for TFB, collaborated with 5.11 to produce the Stache Sneaker - a globetrotting shoe that can handle all manner of adventures. Well, as we head into autumn, a new colorway has been announced in “Iron Grey” for all of us to choose from.

5.11 @ TFB:

5.11 x James Reeves Stache Sneaker

This new Iron Grey iteration still touts all the same trademark features as past color options like a Vibram® bottom that grips like a beast, a compatible deconstructed upper for reduced weight and supreme comfort, and the signature ‘stash’ pocket on the shoe’s tongue perfect for stowing spare valuables.

Whether you're navigating a day at work, a sidewalk in Italy, or hiking with the family, the Stache Sneaker is meant to conquer whatever your day has in store for you. All of the important, nerdy specs that you may want to know are listed below:

  • MSRP: $95
  • Also offered in black and ranger green
  • Sizes available range from 7 to 13
  • Deconstructed styling
  • Retro-camo interior lining and outsole area stitch
  • Ortholite ® insole
  • Flexible and breathable 1200D nylon upper

A Word from 5.11 and James Reeves on the Stache Sneaker

“5.11, the global innovator of purpose-built apparel, footwear, and gear, has introduced a new colorway of its renowned Stache Sneaker, in collaboration with The Firearm Blog’s James Reeves. The new shade, Iron Grey, has a dark grey canvas exterior, while the interior pops with tropical vibes and a rebellious edge — a red backdrop featuring hibiscus blooms colliding with skull graphics. The look is finished with a clean, off-white rubber outsole for contrast, making it equally at home on the street or on the move."
“For me, the real test was whether The Stache could handle real life — from long days on your feet to being machine-washed and crammed into the bottom of a duffel bag before a trip. That’s the kind of reliability I wanted, and I’m proud that this shoe delivers without compromise,” said Reeves.”

Final Thoughts

As always, let us know all of your thoughts about 5.11, our man of wonder James Reeves, and this latest colorway option of Iron Grey in the Stache Sneaker in the Comments below! We always appreciate your feedback.

I have a feeling i would have liked the stache more than the McClanes I recently purchased. I bought them to replace the Altama Maritime Assault shoes i got sometime ago ive been suggesting to Altama that they start manufacturing their Urban Assault shoes in wide sizes like the Maritime Assault shoes but that suggestion has fallen on deaf ears I like my Maritime Assault shoes but i cant love them I also hate where they aren't water resistant like the Urban Assault shoes.

Bought a pair, took 'em home before a trip. Left them home, because... Took them back two days after returning home. It you guys ever decide to make these in a wide last, I may be back. Maybe it's just age, and you youngsters just have skinny everything, but....
