GRS Loke - New Ambidextrous Stock For Long-Range, PRS, & NRL Shooting
GRS has unveiled a new model called Loke, a purpose-built laminate stock designed for long-range, PRS, and NRL competition. Fully ambidextrous, the Loke features a nearly vertical grip with integrated thumb rests and a textured surface for enhanced control during precision stages. If you haven’t tried shooting precision and long range with your thumb on a dedicated rest, I can highly recommend it. It took some time getting used to, and to be honest, I still struggle to remember sometimes, but eventually I’ll get there.

$500 for a Trigger?! Why Corvus' New AUG Trigger Might Be Worth It
James Reeves visits the Corvus booth at Austria Arms Action Days to check out a prototype trigger system designed specifically for the Steyr AUG. If you’ve ever shot a bullpup, you know one of the biggest complaints is the mushy trigger. Corvus is changing that with a new drop-in, two-stage aluminum and steel trigger pack that breaks at around 2.5kg, features a short reset, and installs in seconds. It’s taken over a year to develop, and it’s finally almost ready for release, pending final testing. But at around $500, is it worth it? James digs into why bullpup triggers are so tough to get right, what makes this system different, and why it might finally fix the AUG’s worst flaw.

TFB Review: MDT ACC Elite Chassis System with Bergara B14-R 22LR Rifle
This is a review of the MDT ACC Elite for the Remington 700 Short Action footprint. When MDT dropped the original ACC chassis, it became very popular among precision rifle competitors. It brought modularity, balance, and performance together in a platform that many thought they could evolve with. Fast forward a few years, and MDT has doubled down with their most competition-focused chassis yet — the ACC Elite.

SilencerCo’s New SCO Slide For Gen 1-3 Glocks
SilencerCo is back at their pistol work again, this time with something that will hopefully scratch the itch for those who want a Maxim 9 but just can’t find a way to get their hands on one. While this slide won’t convert your Glock into a Maxim 9, the design of the new SCO Slide is heavily inspired by SilencerCo’s integrally suppressed 9mm pistol. The new slide is also going to come pre-cut, ready to direct-mount one optic of your choice from a list of some of the most popular pistol red dots currently available.
Modernize Your SKS - HUSH Holsters SKS Folding Stock
Frequent TFB readers will remember Spencer from HUSH Holsters. A few years back, Spencer came out with his high-tech 3D printed suppressor compatible holster and since then, it’s taken off and Spencer has had time to come out with a completely new product line - a new SKS Folding Stock. Available in more modern nylon or classic wood, each of these made-to-order stocks can use almost any variant of SKS, with any bayonet, and any magazine setup, helping breathe new life into the antiquated WWII semi-automatic 7.62x39mm carbine.
Best AR-15 Upgrades
In the world of AR-15s, there are almost limitless options for accessories and upgrades. With the market offering more options than ever before, now is a perfect time to explore what the best upgrades are when looking to elevate your current rifle to the next level. Let's look at some of the best AR-15 upgrades.
Reptilia Launches New Ambidextrous Charging Handle for AR-15 Platform
In my opinion, the single most important upgrade you can do to your otherwise working AR-15 is to improve the charging handle. There’s now a new option to consider, as Reptilia has released its latest accessory for the AR-15 platform: the Puller Charging Handle. It’s available exclusively through the company’s website, with a price of $99.95.
Magpul Adds Ruger American Short Action to Hunter Lite Stock Lineup
At the NRA Meetings in Atlanta, Magpul released a few new products, including the latest addition to the Hunter Lite lineup, which is now available for Ruger American rifles chambered in short-action cartridges. Like previous Hunter Lite models, it keeps practical features like the aluminum V-bedding block, AICS mag compatibility, adjustable comb height and length of pull, and a reversible insert to support both left- and right-handed actions. The slimmer forend and 2.5-pound weight keep it well-suited for backcountry use. It’s also compatible with both Gen I and Gen II Ruger American receivers.
Axcess Triggers – A New Line of Three-Piece AR Triggers
Do you have an AR lower lying around that’s just begging to be built? Do you want a better-than-mil-spec trigger, at a low price? If so, Axcess Triggers (a Timney company) may have you covered with their new line of three-piece AR Triggers.
Best AR-15 Charging Handles for 2025
While it sees less frequent use than the trigger, magazine release, or bolt catch/release (hopefully), the AR-15 charging handle ranks among the most deliberately chosen and commonly upgraded components selected by owners for their rifles. While the standard mil-spec configuration satisfies all basic and necessary functional requirements, it frequently lacks the refinements necessary or preferred by those in more specific situations, such as:
The Strike Industries SMC Bravo: The Poor Man’s Pistol PDW
I’ve been morbidly curious about the PDW/braced pistol format for quite a long time. What originally kicked off this curiosity was when I had a buddy of mine bring his B&T USW-A1 to a range day we had. The USW-A1, like the Strike SMC ( Strike Modular Chassis) Bravo, is essentially a platform that allows the user the same manual of arms as a typical 9mm sidearm, but with a more stable aiming thanks to an extendable brace or stock. The USW-A1 is probably my favorite example of this concept, but it's also quite pricey and requires the new owner to jump through a few additional NFA loopholes to properly acquire. This is where I think Strike Industries’ SMC Bravo steps in and takes a great service weapon concept, and adapts it to better fit the commercial and recreational shooter worlds. Today we’ll check out the SMC Bravo to give you guys a better idea of where this type of firearm might fit into your collection.

TFB Behind the Gun #155: Gun Tinkering w/ The Carry Handle Podcast
I’ve brought the boys from The Carry Handle Podcast back on to talk a little bit about a somewhat divisive topic that is often brought up in the gun community - Do you build and tinker with your guns or do you just buy them and leave them the way they are? While I personally fall more on the tinkerer side of the spectrum, I’m also not against keeping some of my most prized, historical, or CCW-oriented guns pretty much unmodified. Today Bryce and Kevin are going to take their own deeply held positions on this subject and give you their reasons why they do (or don’t) tinker with their firearms.

Upgrading The AK Rifle: A Critical View (Part 2)
In part 1 of this series, I wrote about procedures I developed for upgrading AKs after working as an armorer in various Middle Eastern countries and evaluating many AK modernization projects. I divided all AK upgrades into three categories: Ergonomics (I), Technical Capabilities (II), and Sighting Systems (III). The first two were already covered in Part 1, and this article is dedicated to Category III — Sighting Systems.

Upgrading The AK Rifle: A Critical View (Part 1)
Many years ago, when I just started writing for TFB, I published a big article: Red dots on AKs: Critical View: Part 1, Part 2, trying to summarise the information about the use of reflex signs on Kalashnikov rifles. Since then, the topic of AK rifle modernization has become even more prevalent: every day we are seeing updates on conflicts in the Middle East where all sides are using AK and actively trying to modernize them. The war in Ukraine is another modern conflict where both sides have AKs and try to get the most out of this weapon system, even turning it into anti-drone weapons.
