If you head southeast toward Arlington from the heart of Fort Worth, Texas, you will soon come to a small industrial park just off of Highway 287. Savage Arms just expanded its lineup of up-spec'd rifles again, with the release of the new 110 Trail Hunter Lite. As the name implies, this is an evolution of the existing 110 Trail Hunter model. That rifle comes with a 22-inch medium heavy barrel. The new Lite version has a 20-inch fluted barrel to cut down on weight, to about 7 pounds, depending on which cartridge your rifle is chambered for (the 350 Legend version has an 18-inch barrel). The standard 110 Trail Hunter weighs around 8 pounds.

Our friends at B&T USA have just announced the release of the SPR86 – an integrally suppressed bolt action rifle chambered in 8.6 Blackout. The SPR86 is the older/bigger sibling to the B&T USA SPR300 Pro chambered in 300BLK (one of my remaining grail guns). Upsizing the 300BLK platform, the 8.6BLK SPR86 launches heavier bullets farther with the same level of extreme accuracy. Dark Mountain Arms is a new firearms manufacturing company (founded in 2023) located in Asheville, North Carolina. The company’s first products are a takedown rifle and pistol called STOWAWAY that have a rather unusual action and chambering combination – these are single-shot bolt action firearms chambered in 5.7×28. Let’s take a quick look at the specs and features of Dark Mountain Arms STOWAWAY rifle and pistol.

Weatherby have released another iteration of their newest Model 307 bolt action rifle called Alpine CT. The new Weatherby Model 307 Alpine CT is built with extensive use of carbon fiber components. Particularly, the rifle features a Peak 44 Bastion carbon fiber stock and a carbon fiber sleeved barrel from BSF Barrels. Let’s take a closer look.

The new RUK AK magazine adapter from Occam Defense brings standard AK mags to the Ruger American bolt-action rifle. Rather than the standard Mini-30 mags, which can be expensive and hard to find, AK mags practically grow on trees and tend to be more affordable (as long as you aren’t buying rare ones). Listen up, World War 2 fans. U.S. Armament Manufacturing LLC is reviving the legendary DeLisle carbine. This rifle is a legend and one of the best-known integrally-suppressed firearms ever made. Let’s check it out!

For today’s Photo Of The Day, we have pictures of a very cool project by a company called Cotton Branch Custom Firearms. It’s a Lee-Enfield rifle converted to a De Lisle carbine configuration except instead of .45 ACP it is chambered in 375 Raptor. The latter is a .375-caliber short-action cartridge based on the .308 Winchester case.

If you are one those bros who wants more powder, more case length, more velocity, more bullet, more everything, than you will be tickled to hear about some more news coming out of Springfield Armory. They have announced that they are now producing new long-action cartridges in their Model 2020 Waypoint bolt-action rifle series.

Steyr announced the new Scout Mk II late last year, and we now have one of the first shipment guns on hand for review. However, good reviews take time, and there is not much info about this gun yet. So, here is a first look at the Scout Mk II while that review is in process!

Blaser’s R8 series of hunting rifles is one of the more premium options on the market. Offered in a wide variety of cartridges and styles, these rifles make it easy for European customers to take advantage of a wider variety of cartridges for hunting, without the need to take up an extra slot on their firearms permit. Beyond the legal benefits, the R8 is also an extremely high-end rifle with a very practical caliber conversion system that has just received its latest expansion in the way of Blasers new R8 Small Caliber Set Rimfire Conversion kits. These rimfire conversion kits allow you to take your full-size rifle-caliber R8, and convert it for use for practice, or varmint hunting.

Montana Rifle Company has a new traditional-style hunting rifle, called the Junction. It has a unique Adaptive Controlled Round Feed action that can work in either push feed or controlled feed. A threaded muzzle with a brake is also standard.

In this episode of TFBTV Show Time, James Reeves is at IWA 2024 talking to the creators of the MIPO 50, a quality, accurate Slovakian-made bolt action .50 caliber rifle that is reasonably priced. At IWA 2024, James Reeves explores the Gungnir rifle, a prototype by German designer Georg Holthaus. This multi-caliber, bullpup, straight-pull rifle showcases unique features like a very short bolt with a rotating head, adaptable chassis, and ambidextrous ergonomics. Savage Arms is typically associated with high-quality but economically priced hunting rifles but at IWA 2024, they are unveiling a high-end collaborative ultra-lightweight rifle with participation from Proof Research and MDT. The rifle will use an MDT chassis with carbon fiber elements and a folding stock, a Proof Research carbon fiber-wrapped barrel, and Savage’s excellent trigger. It’s hard to believe that Savage is getting on board with high-end players like MDT and Proof, but it’s a welcome surprise, to be sure.

The new Amend2 AICS magazines are now shipping to retailers. These magazines are compatible with short action calibers. Let’s take a look at the features.

The Bergara Academy Long Range Shooting School has an additional new location in Wyoming at the Queen Mountain Ranch outside Evanston. It joins the existing location in Montana. Bergara will offer a series of 2-day “Beginner Western Hunter” classes running from May through August. Shooters will learn to engage targets out to 1,000 yards in hunting scenarios.

Photo Of The Day – Any kind of sniping can be ever so challenging, but adding movement and wind from all sorts of directions must surely be as hard as it ever gets. Here we see an Accuracy International AXMC sniper rifle with a Schmidt & Bender 5-45×56 High Power riflescope. I don’t know much about the rifle, but I have the riflescope and it’s pretty sweet. Not sure how my stomach would cope with the waves, I’d probably have to sacrifice to Poseidon a few times.

Barrett is a single name that’s synonymous with large caliber rifles and being the self-proclaimed leader in long-range. Since the company was born, they’ve resided in a small factory roughly an hour south of Nashville, TN. The name might be known the world over, but the story comes from humble beginnings. Recently I had a chance to attend Barrett’s M82/M017A1 armorers course and was allowed to see behind the scenes.  Here’s what I found inside the headquarters of Barrett Firearms MFG.

J.P. Sauer & Sohn have introduced a new bolt action rifle, the  Sauer 505. This new rifle has two-piece furniture and a completely new action that is advertised as silky smooth, super silent and extremely fast. Let’s take a look at the specs and features of the new Sauer 505 bolt action rifle.

Expanding their extensive catalog of bolt action rifles, Mauser has unveiled three new models for 2024 – the Mauser 18 Pure, Mauser 18 Pure Max and Mauser 12 Grey Max. What sets these three models apart from other Mauser 18 and Mauser 12 rifles is the laminated wood furniture. The difference between the Mauser 18 Pure and Mauser 18 Pure Max is in the stock profile with the former sporting a more classic stock and the latter being equipped with a thumbhole stock. Mauser 12 Grey Max features a thumbhole stock with polymer coating over laminated wood. Below you can find the tech specs of these new Mauser rifles. Hello and welcome back to another edition of The Rimfire Report! This ongoing series is all about the rimfire firearm world and its many different types of firearms, history, trends, ammunition, and much more! The TFB and TFBTV crew have just come back from SHOT Show 2024 and to be honest, it was kind of a blur. This year was probably the busiest we have been and probably the most heavily trafficked I’ve ever seen the show in recent years. That being said, the yearly grind of booth assaults is still one of the most enjoyable events of the year for me mostly because of the good company of the entire TFB/TFBTV crew, but also for the sheer amount of cool and new stuff we get to see. This year I was excited to see a couple of new 22LR offerings including the brand new Hammerli Force B1. This new 10/22-esque-looking firearm not only uses Ruger pattern BX magazines, but it features a quick change barrel system so you can swap between cheap and fun 22LR to the much more potent and reliable 22WMR with a lightning-fast and neat quick change barrel system. While that’s cool news in and of itself, I think the rimfire sector of the firearms industry is finally starting to see a lot more of its deserved attention. As we’ll discuss today, I think the Hammerli Force B1 is a great indicator of things to come in the rimfire firearm world, and of course, take a closer look at this neat new convertible rimfire rifle.

Luke C @BallisticAviation is visiting with Kirk from Aero precision to talk about the latest extension to the bolt-action SOLUS line. Aero now has long action SOLUS receivers and complete rifles that still have the same great set of features and premium components found in the short action line, but now with new caliber options like 300 WM, further expanding the capabilities of the SOLUS Lineup of bolt action rifles.
