Franklin Armory Releases G-S173 Glock Binary Trigger

Franklin Armory is now shipping their G-S173 Glock binary trigger and slide system. It converts a Gen 3 Glock 17 to fire on the pull and release of the trigger. Let’s take a closer look.

Franklin Armory @ TFB:

Binary triggers derive their name from firing two shots per trigger pull cycle. This effectively doubles the rate of fire. “But what if you pull the trigger and decide not to fire the second shot?” Franklin Armory has already thought of that. Just flip the selector switch from binary back to semi and the trigger can be released without firing again. It fits all standard Gen 3 Glock 17 frames, which have become the market standard for DIY striker-fired pistol builds with brands like Polymer80.

Note the selector switch on the side of the slide.

The G-S173 is not cheap, coming in at $899. That is more expensive than any pistol direct from Glock. However, it does include some nice upgrades like tritium night sights and an optics cut. The G-S173 is in stock and ready for order as of writing. You can find it here.

From the manufacturer:

MINDEN, Nev. – October 16, 2023 – Franklin Armory®, Inc., one of America’s most innovative manufacturers of firearms, parts, and accessories has begun shipping its first Binary® trigger for a striker fired handgun, the G-S173 for the Glock® 17 Gen 3. Engineered with Franklin Armory’s patented Binary Firing System® (BFS™), G-S173 is the first pull-and-release trigger to provide Glock 17 users with the ability to actively select between regular semiautomatic and Binary® modes and safely cancel the release round.

Does the timer start now until somebody's child tries to show off his Dads new toy to his friends...? I really don't get this and see zero use for this product, but I hope it's used as safely as possible.

@Big Sauce69 I have to agree. It's just too likely to be misused to be a good idea. And God help owners of any binary triggers if this one is used in a mass shooting.
Sorry to all to be a Debbie Downer, but i just don't see this product as smart in a safety or political sense.

As retarded as this is at least they had the brains to make the slide optics ready.
