Developed from the Knight’s Armament Company SR-25 and manufactured by Knight’s Armament Company, today’s main topic is the M110 Semi Automatic Sniper System (M110 SASS). It was adopted by the U.S. Army in 2005 but is now about to be replaced by the M110A1 CSASS, which is made by Heckler & Koch.

These images are all taken at King Abdullah II Special Operations Training Center, which is located in Amman, Jordan. The center specializes in counter-terrorism, special operations and irregular warfare tactics. You can find the homepage here, it’s well worth a look: http://www.kasotc.com/

These pictures show U.S. Marines with the Maritime Raid Force, 11th Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU), during a live-fire exercise at their sniper range.

If you, too, want to shoot from a tripod you can check out our review of the Innorel RT90C Carbon Fiber Tripod with Really Right Stuff BH-55 Ball Head.

There are more pictures of the new M110A1 here: U.S. Army’s New M110A1 Squad Designated Marksman Rifle.

Which one would you prefer, the M110 SASS or the M110A1?

I'm not usually a fan of Cerakote jobs that make the weapon look battle-worn, but they did a really nice job with that M110. It looks like it's been to hell and back.

I'm surprised they're doing a range session without ear pro. Makes me think it may have really just been a photo shoot.
