At the recent SIG NEXT 2025 event, there was a massive amount of new products introduced, from firearms to electro-optics. This article will introduce SIG Sauer's entrance into weapon-mounted rangefinders. The KILO WARP is built around the company's GEN II LightWave DSP engine, offering fast ranging performance even in difficult conditions like fog, rain, or dust.

The unit integrates an onboard Applied Ballistics solver along with real-time environmental sensors, allowing it to generate accurate shooting solutions directly on the device. Designed for field use, mounted on a firearm, it features a compact, recoil-hardened housing meant to maintain alignment under heavy use.

The SIG Sauer KILO WARP in short:

  • Onboard Environmental Sensors and Digital Compass for Real-Time Ballistic Calculations
  • Applied Ballistics® Elite with Complete AB Bullet Database and Custom Drag Curves
  • Daylight Readable Display for Range, Ballistic Solutions, Retained Energy/Velocity, Direction of Fire, and Wind Input.
  • Dedicated Wind Input for Instant Modification to Wind Speed and Direction
  • Ships With Bluetooth Remote Ranging Switch
  • LightWave DSP Gen II Rangefinding Engine
  • Drop Waypoints Using OnX Maps, Basemaps, Apple Maps, and Google Maps
  • Waterproof and Fogproof-Rated

Here mounted on top of the SIG Cross Sawtooth rifle.

It’s also possible to mount the KILO WARP on a spotting scope, like SIG’s new OSCAR6 HDX PRO, including SIG’s new optical image stabilization.

I tried a similar system recently, mounted on a semi-automatic AR10 in .308 Win, at a shooting range with a lot of steel targets in the desert of Nevada. It’s just fabulous how these systems work, especially at unknown distances. It’s pretty unreal how these advanced systems have become available to the public.

It’s still a big chunk of anyone’s budget, but there are also a lot of solutions for the money, all packed into a convenient box. If you haven’t already tried one, I’d recommend you try.

The SIG KILO WARP Laser Range Finder will be available soon, and is priced at $1,999.99. I’m sure it will find its way to a lot of target shooters and spotters, and I look forward to the first reviews.
