[SHOT 2026] Trigger Time with the New FightLite DFX
At this year’s SHOT Show we had the chance to put a few rounds through Florida-based FightLite’s all new DFX, or Dual-Feed Conversion. FightLite talked us through the new guns and explained some of their features. The DFX is an upper receiver group which can be paired with any MIL-Spec AR-15/M16/M4 lower receiver. Like other FightLite firearms the DFX uses M27 linked ammunition belts (or AR-15/Stanag magazines). Unlike other FightLite weapons, however, the DFX doesn’t have a quick-change barrel which FightLite says aims to make the DFX simpler, cheaper and more streamlined for the customer.
Here’s some specs for the new DFX:
- WEIGHT: 6.15 lbs (2.79 kg)
- OVERALL LENGTH: 26" (660 mm)
- BARREL LENGTH: 12.5” (317.5mm) or 16.25" (413mm)
- SUPPRESSIBILITY: Suppressor Compatible
- BARREL TWIST: 1:7" Right-Hand Twist (1:178 mm)
- FEED SYSTEM:
- (a) 4179 STANAG (AR15/M4/M16) Magazines
- (b) Belt-Feed (M27 Link) 100 & 200rd SAW Drums
- OPERATING SYSTEM: Gas-Piston & Pusher-Rod System, Closed Bolt
- COMPATIBILITY: Drops on to any MIL-Spec AR15/M4/M16 Lower
As you can imagine the DFX was a lot of fun at range day with the long handguard configuration enabling us to get a firm grip on the gun and rip some long bursts.
You can also check out TFBTV’s video on the DFX below:
The DFX’s standard features include gas-piston operation, a heavy-duty, free-floating fixed barrel system, and a free-floating, slimline Picatinny railed handguard. FightLite say they have aimed the DFX at the Infantry Automatic Rifle (IAR) market, by providing the flexibility of being able to feed the weapon from a magazine but also have the capacity to feed from a belt if the situation calls for it. The DFX is available in a couple of barrel lengths 12.5 and 16-inches. It is also available with several handguard lengths.
MSRP on the new DFX $3,995 for both barrel lengths and they're available now. Head to Fightlite.com for more information on the DFX.
