[SHOT 2026] OK, Boomer: Charter Arms Whips Out New Wheelguns
Charter Arms is not a company that’s given to change—they still sell the same model revolver that the Son of Sam made so famous a generation ago, the Bulldog. But for 2026, they have added four new made-in-America lines to their catalog, including one called the Boomer. We’re still wondering if that’s intended as a dig or not …

Speak softly and carry a loud revolver
We presume the Boomer name of this new series is related to the fact it has a 2-inch ported barrel, not that it’s the sort of handgun that people of a certain age prefer. Whatever the case, what you see is pretty much what you get with this handgun. You can have a six-shot version in .38 Special or a five-shot version in 9x19mm, .357 Mag or .44 Mag. MSRP on Charter Arms’ site is currently $500. A trenched sighting system is standard along with a shrouded hammer, so you don’t snag your front sight on the draw. You can buy it with blued or stainless finish, rubber or wood grip.
Practice makes perfect
The built-for-target-shooting Pathfinder II revolver series is chambered in .22LR with eight-shot cylinders. Thanks to an aircraft aluminum frame, the revolver only weighs 20 ounces. We previously looked at it here.
The factory also uses 416 stainless in some areas that need more strength. Barrel length is 3.5 inches. Charter Arms sells a version in black/blued finish, a stainless version and a version with goldish-looking main frame and black/blued barrel. Pricing for all three models is $510.61.
Double-Dog Dare
The Double Dog revolver is so named because it can handle two different cylinders, one in 9x19mm and one in .357 Mag. Cylinder capacity is 5 rounds; it’s a large-framed revolver with your choice of 2-inch or 4-inch barrel.
Sights are fixed; walnut grips are standard. Prices range from $658.63 to $636.90, and for that price, they include the extra cylinder.
Take a hike
The oddly-named Walker revolver might be made specifically for taking a stroll with your pup, or maybe to recall the glories of past Texas Ranger-themed television shows, or the revolvers those old lawmen used in the distant past.
Whatever the case, the modern Walker is an easily-concealed revolver that can be used in .22LR or .22 Magnum (presumably with interchangeable cylinders). Lots of aluminum in the construction will keep weight down. MSRP is unknown for now, as Charter Arms’ website does not list many details. However, if you keep an eye out there, you may see more details soon.

I have one of the original 38 Special snub nose, purchased in 1970. It has saved my life on two occasions. The quality of the early CA guns is very good. I don’t shoot it much any more and it has become a nightstand gun, but I can't say anything bad about it.
Charter is the AMC of the revolver world, they work but damn are they ugly.
