G80 is a Defense Distributed project started to revive the once popular but at some point virtually killed 80% build segment. The G80 80% pistol build products are not a copy of what was available previously, though, but a more advanced design. The G80 kits allow building Glock 19 Gen 3 parts-compatible pistols. The steel receivers, polymer frames and the jig/tool set to complete the build can be purchased on the company’s website; however, this is an open-source project and if you want to build everything yourself, the company provides free-to-download files for all the components.

The G80 80% system consists of three main components: the unfinished receiver, the grip module and the jig to finish the build. Here is a brief description of each component.

G80 Unfinished Receiver

The G80 unfinished receiver is machined out of 4140 heat-treated billet steel and has a nitride finish. The receiver combines the locking block, trigger housing and slide rails. Additionally, it features a built-in magazine over insertion stop. The MSRP of the G80 Unfinished Receiver is   $129.99. The receiver comes with all the pins necessary for installation.

G80 Grip Module

The G80 Grip Module is made of PA11 polymer using the Multi Jet Fusion technology. It is compatible with most G19 holsters as well as OEM and Magpul Glock 19 magazines. The G80 Grip Module is available in Black, FDE, ODG and Gray color options. The price is   $49.99-$59.99, depending on the color choice.

G80 Jig

The G80 Jig is designed to help complete the 80% receiver using a Dremel or a GG3-S machine. It is advertised to be precision-machined to eliminate walk, chatter and misalignment and made of strong enough materials to withstand repeated use without losing accuracy. The price of the G80 Jig is   $219.99. The jig comes with the drill bits needed to drill the receiver pin holes and a grinding stone. There is also a polymer version of the jig in the works, which will be cheaper but not suitable for multiple uses.

A built kit that includes all three above-listed components is available for $319.99. All the components are made in the USA.

Additionally, the company is designing a PCC-style grip module with a retractable stock.
