POTD: The Mossberg 590RM Breacher
Photo Of The Day and we take a look at four images of the 590RM Breacher. This Mossberg shotgun features an ambidextrous AR-style rotary safety selector and comes with a 10-round detachable magazine. The 18.5-inch barrel includes an integrated heat shield, in case you decide to shoot a few more than one magazine.
The enlarged, beveled loading port with an exposed follower, will simplify your reloading. The flat-profile trigger is said to deliver a smooth, crisp break.
A 5-position adjustable stock includes an MOE pistol grip, an interchangeable recoil pad, and two QD ports. A top Picatinny rail accommodates AR-style optics.
It’s been ages since I shot any kind of shotgun at all, but I would certainly enjoy giving this one a try and see how it pumps. What kind of shotguns do you prefer? Pumps or semi-autos?
The shotgun is from O.F. Mossberg & Sons, Inc. and the images are from Gallery of Guns.

I did some coyote hunting out of a helicopter with one of these, it was great, handles like an AR. The rotating safety and pistol grip are very intuitive. I traded the stock for a Magpul CTR and put a different grip on it. Both are AR based, put what you like on there.
I was astonished when Mossburg green-lighted a magazine fed shotgun. Definitely an interesting design application for a traditional shotgun. The AK shotgun goes one step further using a gas piston system making it S/A.
Probably around the same price…..
