POTD: The B.E. Meyers IZLID Ultra Airborne Kit
Today’s featured image showcases the B.E. Meyers & Co. IZLID Ultra Airborne Kit. This high-power infrared laser device is designed for air-to-ground integration, providing up to 1-Watt of near-infrared power for target marking and long-range communication when used with night vision devices.
If we go technical, it provides a Laser Class 4 NIR, 860 nm ± 25 nm wavelength with a power output of 390 mW - 990 mW, with low, high and 3-5Hz pulse outputs.
The system supports various weapons across equipped rotary-wing platforms and other aircraft, enhancing targeting capabilities in diverse operational conditions.
This system can be mounted to any MILSTD-1913 rail and comes with two remote activation options.
The IZLID Ultra excels at aircraft coordination and nighttime target marking, delivering an exceptionally bright infrared beam that remains visible to high-altitude aircraft and in high ambient light conditions when viewed through standard night vision devices.
