POTD: Glock 45 TB with World’s First Translucent Roofed Red Dot Sight

Photo Of The Day and these images are probably the freshest we have ever presented, as they were taken earlier today, only moments ago. Let’s quickly forget about the G45 and focus on the OMSsc (Open Mini Sight Sub Compact) red dot from Shield Sights, which is claiming to feature the World’s first translucent roof. It uses Shield’s standard footprint, and if we’re to believe the specs, it’s the smallest micro red dot optic on the market.

The dot size is available in either 4 or 8 MOA, and if you care, I’ve decided I want around 3-4 MOA on my competition guns. Only if I knew I was shooting at very close distances would I go for the 8 MOA (read self-defense handgun).

Back to the Glock 45. This one is spec'd as a Glock 45 MOS TB FS, as in optics-ready, threaded barrel and front serrations. Probably the best choice out there. This particular pistol is brand new out of the box, so it has never been fired.

We might have a few special tricks waiting for this G45, apart from the Shield optics. Like the brand new ACE trigger system from Triggertech, for instance. If only the shipping agent could care to deliver.

Below is a fairly worn G45 with the same specifications, but with an upgraded trigger and a Shield Sights RMSX in Electric Blue. Don’t worry, Shield has about a dozen other colors to choose from. The suppressor is a PMM6 from A-Tec, with a Nielsen device, made in Norway.

I guess everyone knows where to find Glock. If you want to check out Shield Sights, here is their website: https://www.shieldsights.com/

Eric you should know well that an 8MOA reticle fits within the A zone of an IPSC target at 50m if the optic wasn't a $30 chineseium amazon special.

Well, like the SMSc I have on my Hellcat, you still have to remove the sight to change the battery. It would have to be a lot less expensive to make it worthwhile for me.
