POTD: Geissele GFW .300 BLK in Have Glass V Gray

Some rifles are built around suppression as an afterthought. This one clearly is not. The Geissele GFW .300 BLK SBR shown here is configured from the ground up for suppressed use, paired with the HUXWRX Flow 300 and set against a stark snow-covered backdrop. But what immediately stands out is the finish. Can you spot what it is?

The rifle is anodized in a Have Glass V inspired gray, referencing the radar-absorbing coating used on the F-16 Fighting Falcon. The tone has that familiar dark, slightly metallic look, contrasting sharply with the white environment while still maintaining a subdued visual signature.

Do you prefer fully tucked suppressors or exposed setups?

The 8-inch .300 Blackout platform is built around dedicated suppressed performance. The Flow 300 suppressor is partially tucked under the 11-inch MK22 handguard, allowing a forward grip without sacrificing overall compactness. Combined with a tuned gas system and Geissele’s internal components, the setup is clearly intended to manage recoil and maintain consistent cycling.

If you want your own, put $4,000 aside and check: https://www.eurooptic.com/geissele-gfw-300-blk-8-bbl-f-16-grey-short-barrel-rifle-huxwrx-flow-300-suppress

Is .300 Blackout still your top choice for suppressed rifles?

  • Tucked suppressor setups look cool, but they’re impractical because they’re not cool at all.

They’re uncomfortably hot after a magazine which eliminates the grip and posture advantage of a longer forend.

I've never shot a suppressed AR with a tucked can, but I do have to wonder if it gets way too hot to hold the handguard as a result (to the former poster's point). Looks cool though.
