POTD: Don't Cry for Argentina, The IWI Arad Is Coming

Few countries carry as much musical baggage as Argentina, but this time the story is about rifles rather than Evita. Israel Weapon Industries is supplying the Argentine Armed Forces with its Arad 5 and Arad 7 rifles, some paired with the Meprolight sights.

The deal is government-to-government, led by Israel's Ministry of Defense together with SIBAT, its defense cooperation and export body. That structure typically keeps procurement tidy and the support chain short. For Argentina, it forms part of a wider military modernization effort, and the rifles and optics come as a matching package.

For a fuller description of the deal, check out: Argentina Adopts IWI ARAD Rifles.

How does the Arad stack up against what you would pick for a national service rifle?
