POTD: Commando Royal Marines With Suppressed SIG Sauer MCXs

Photo Of The Day, and we look at members of the 42 Commando Royal Marines as they hit the range with their new SIG Sauer MCX rifles. The introduction of this new weapon is said to mark a key milestone in the unit’s transition into a NATO SOF Maritime Task Group.
The MCX replaces the L119A1 rifles previously made by Colt Canada and is intended to complement the Commandos' new standard-issue weapon, the L403A1, which is commonly known as the KS-1. More than 1,500 MCX rifles have been bought. As many of TFB’s readers already know, Sig Sauer’s MCX might appear similar to an AR-style rifle, but it's a different weapon system in many ways. As you can see in some of the images, the MCX is used and fired with the stock folded.
To my knowledge, the suppressor is a SIG Sauer SLX556C. The optics are a SIG Sauer Romeo red dot with a magnifier.

Ian McCollum said something like "the AR is the best assault rifle because it has benefitted from 60 years of development." Yes, it is more than an AR10 or an M16. However, this is the latest progression/development of the AR.
