Off-Body Carry: Falco Holsters Concealed GunĀ Bags

When it comes to carrying a concealed handgun off-body, there are a few aspects to consider. There are plenty of options on the market, but so far, the Falco Holsters off-body bags have proven to be modular at a competitive price. Over the last few months, I have tried several different models and can give you an informed overview of these bags from my time with them. Let's take a closer look at the various FalcoĀ Concealed GunĀ Bags.
Why Off-Body Carry?
There are a number of benefits that come with the off-body method of carrying. Whether it's a female looking to have a comfortable method of carrying or someone wanting to carry a larger firearm on their person during the hot summer months, carrying off-body in a designated bag can make all the difference when it comes to consistency and carrying comfortably all day long. With the amount of aftermarket accessories created for carry bags, you can truly create the exact setup that allows you to carry all day, every day. When it comes to carrying a concealed handgun inside a bag, not all bags are created equally. Recently, I had an opportunity to review three different carry bags from Falco Holsters.
When To Carry Off-Body?
There's no question, having the option to carry off-body is a great choice for certain situations. I carry mostly off body when I am traveling to a new city and want to have a full-size handgun, but it's either too hot for carrying on my waist or it's just easier to carry off body. Exercising outdoors is another fantastic time to carry off-body when you want to hike or run without having a handgun hot spot on your side in an IWB holster. This allows you to move freely while still carrying an adequately sized firearm. For most people who carry, off-body carrying can slip their mind and it may not even seem like an option, but having something like a slingĀ or shoulder bagĀ that looks like a regular bag can be an extremely useful tool.
The Falco Concealed Gun Bags
When it comes to concealment bags, there is a wide variety of different options on the market. Whether it's a sling bag, large shoulder bag or thigh bag, there are a number of options to conceal a handgun without having it on your waistline. I received the following models of Falco Holsters concealed gunĀ bags: Leg Concealed Gun Bag G113, CrossBody Bag for Concealed Gun Carry G122,Ā and Simple Large Tactical Gun Bag G201. This is a great opportunity to give these different types of off-body carry bags a fair shakedown to see how they work when carrying off-body.
For the handgun, I ordered a Colt 1911 holster with a Velcro attachment to try out these bags. When it comes to carrying off body, this style of carry allows you to carry a larger firearm that may otherwise be uncomfortable to carry on your body.
When ordering the concealment bags, it's important to try and keep a low profile, not to draw any attention to yourself. I decided to opt for the light gray option on my gun bags in order not to draw any attention to myself, with black, green, blue,Ā and tan being options as well. These concealment bags can be ordered with classic or quiet YKKĀ zippers as well. All of these bags use high-quality materials, include a dedicated compartment lined with Velcro for easy placement of your handgun, holsters, and magazine carriers, with a nylon pull cord for quick draws. Now is a good time to talk about the modularity of the Falco Carry Bags.
Modularity
The inclusion of full Velcro inside their concealment bags really allows you to set up each bag exactly how you want it. Falco offers both cloth and Kydex holsters with Velcro attachments for their concealment bags,Ā and a universal holder is always included as a backup. I opted for a 1911 Velcro Kydex holster (A905 2021)Ā with no light to keep things simple and have the ability to throw in extra attachments for magazines, flashlights or even medical supplies that you may want to keep with you. Having the inside panels covered in Velcro allows for complete modularity where someone can build out their perfect concealment bag, whether being left or right-handed.
If you plan on carrying in different bags like I do, it's fairly easy to just pull the holster and attachments out of one bag and insert everything into the Velcro sections of the other bag. This feature of full Velcro sections is what sets Falco apart from other concealment bags Iāve used in the past. Besides the main Velcro section, there are three zippered compartments that give options for other miscellaneous items, whether it's daily items or medical supplies, or even a multitool. It's a compact bag but still offers a pretty wide variety of options for what you can carry, which is really why this is one of the few concealment bags I recommend to people.
Comfort and Concealability
When it comes to comfort, Falco does a nice job including padding and comfortable straps for comfortable carrying even longer durations of time. They can be easily detached from your body in case of emergency, thanks to the fork buckles. One of the biggest benefits of carrying off-body is the fact that you can carry a much larger handgun comfortably without having to deal with hot spots or rubbing. One of the models I have been using, the Simple Large Tactical Concealment Bag (G201),Ā is a bag that just sits in place.
I have carried both my Colt Competition 1911 as well as my Smith & Wesson SW1911 without any issues or discomfort at all. In terms of concealability, this bag has no problem concealing full-size carry guns. Having a full-size handgun in a shoulder bag will allow you to carry without having the discomfort of your belt digging in or fatiguing over time, like you would with a belt-mounted holster. Carry bags are some of the most comfortable options with full-size handguns.
Falco Holsters Sling Bags Vs Shoulder Bags
One of the most common questions I get is whether a shoulder bag or a sling bag is better for carrying a concealed handgun. The short answer is: it depends on your preferences and daily tasks. For me, my favorite of all bags I have been reviewing is theĀ CrossBody Bag for Concealed Gun Carry G122 | FalcoĀ since it's built like a small sling bag that can carry a full-size handgun without much effort, but isn't so cumbersome that it becomes a burden throughout the day.
I prefer the look of a small sling bag over a shoulder bag, but if I travel into urban city areas, I actually prefer a shoulder bag for the look. Many people don't think there's a concealed handgun in a shoulder bag that a man carries. Hiding in plain sight is one of the best ways to stay under the radar and not draw attention to yourself. For everyday tasks, though, I prefer a sling bag to just throw on and go on with my day. Chest bag G122 can also be worn as a fanny pack, which is a nice addition. Drawing from a sling bag can be extremely fast with enough practice. Between the two, there's no wrong answer, but I have certainly enjoyed carrying the Falco Practical Chest Concealed Gun Bag.
Overall Thoughts
I picked up my Falco Holsters Concealed Carry bags roughly five months ago, and so far, I am absolutely impressed with them. Between the three different bags, my personal favorite is the sling bag G122Ā that I use almost as a tight sling bag for everyday life. Leg Bag G113Ā is also a close second favorite when I want something a little looser fit and not so tight to the body. These bags are thought out and about as modular as you can get for compact concealed carry. Speaking about modularity, you can even attach extra equipment pouches to them thanks to the MOLLE panels on some models. Nice addition in case you need an extra tourniquet or other essential gear on your hand. If you haven't checked them out, I would highly suggest heading over and giving their concealment bags a closer look.

Looking at the offerings on the Falco website, the bags just say "I have a gun." If you want to go off body, check out options from outdoor equipment companies.
Here are some Northface options:
