Italian firearms manufacturer Sabatti is introducing a new family of rifles dubbed Next Generation. The series will have three models: a tactical rifle called Storm, a target rifle called Dynamic and a hunting rifle, the Lyra. The first two can not be found on the company’s website at the time of writing; however, the hunting Lyra rifle is already added to their catalog.

The Lyra is positioned as a budget-friendly hunting rifle. According to the company, the Lyra maintains the overall aesthetic lines of the Rover family of rifles while simplifying some features. Some of the differences from Rovers are the 3-lug Blizzard bolt used in Lyra rifles and the lack of integral Picatinny rail sections on the receiver; Lyra receivers are drilled and tapped.

Sabatti is known for their Multi-Radial Rifling technology, which they use in their higher-end firearms and Lyra, being an entry-level rifle, lacks that feature; the cold hammer forged barrels of Lyra rifles have regular rifling. There are also no iron sights installed on the Lyra rifle barrels.

Sabatti Lyra rifles will initially be available chambered in .308 Winchester, .30-06 Springfield and .300 Winchester Magnum, with 22” or 24” barrel lengths and M14x1 muzzle threads. The rifles are fed from three-round detachable polymer magazines.

The polymer stocks are available in black or camouflage versions. The rubber buttpad and cheek rest are borrowed from the Rover rifles and can be upgraded with the same optional kit that includes two oversized cheek pieces and two additional butt plate spacers.

Other features of Sabatti Lyra rifles include the standard Sabatti trigger with a pull weight of 2.2 lbs and the two-position safety with bolt stop. The overall length of Sabatti Lyra rifles is 42”-44” and they weigh 6.4 lbs.

At the moment, there is no price information available. The exclusive distributor of Sabatti firearms in the USA is the Italian Firearms Group (IFG).
