New CZ 457 Hunter Veil Bolt Action Rifle

CZ adds a camo-clad member to the 457 family with the new 457 Hunter Veil, a lightweight rimfire built for small-game work and precise range sessions. The rifle blends dependable CZ mechanics with a modern Veil® Big Sky polymer stock finished in a soft-touch coating that both hides the shooter and provides a secure, weather-resistant grip designed for real field use.

CZ @ TFB:

Under the stock, the 457 Hunter Veil sports a 20-inch light-profile barrel and all-metal components treated in a flat bronze PVD for corrosion resistance and a low-visibility appearance. A mounted compensator trims muzzle rise for faster follow-ups, and the bolt knob (yes, it’s been borrowed from the CZ 600 Trail) is said to give smooth, predictable cycling.

The result is said to create a balanced, accurate rimfire that pairs stealthy styling with practical durability and shooter-friendly controls. I have to say that bronze was an unexpected choice, but in my opinion, the combination works really well.

Features:

  • Caliber: .22 LR
  • Barrel: 20-inch light profile
  • Stock: Durable polymer with Veil® Big Sky camouflage and soft-touch finish
  • Finish: PVD coating on barrel, receiver, and bolt knob
  • Compensator: Helps reduce muzzle rise
  • Oversized Bolt Knob: From the CZ 600 Trail
  • Overall Length: 39.9 in. (with compensator), 38.6 in. (without)
  • Weight: 5.5 lbs

I’d rather run a suppressor on my rimfire rifle, because the recoil of a .22LR never knocked anyone over. But it does look good.
