POTD: Feinwerkbau AW 93 Light - Excellence in .22LR Target Shooting

Photo Of The Day, and we’re going back to recreational target shooting in the style of 5 shots at the black dot at 25 meters, trying to hit the center of the 10. 5 shots within 4 or 5 minutes, so far away from dynamic shooting on the move, fast double taps and moving targets. Almost like yoga, but with shooting.

The pistol is the Feinwerkbau AW 93 Light sporting pistol that delivers exceptional shooting performance and outstanding results, at least for me, although I never managed to hit 50/50 points, just quite a few 49ers. A unique slide guide mitigates recoil, ensuring stability. The pistol features an adjustable trigger with a trigger stop for precision. After firing the fifth shot from the magazine, an automatic chamber catch keeps the chamber open. I never changed my trigger; it was perfect from the beginning, and I only ever shot one brand and batch of .22LR.

There are grips available in various sizes for both left- and right-handed shooters, and I changed mine to one from Karl Nill.

The AW 93 supports dry firing without a buffer cartridge and can be disassembled without tools for easy cleaning and maintenance. Aluminum front sights, available in different heights and widths, are offered as optional accessories. I really love the blue color of the “Light” model.

I bought mine over 15 years ago, and it was expensive already then. This German pistol is now up to €2.905.

I'll bet the blurry guy in the pic is a major badass in real life. He's basically a pistol sniper.

$2600 US for a precision 22 rimfire pistol that won't do anything more than my Browning Medalist made in 1965. Bought it used in minty condition this year for a thousand bucks. Sweet!
