Federal’s Rob Roberts Raptor Steel, 7mm Backcountry, and Remington Premier AccuTip MZ Now Available

Federal and Remington Ammunition companies have been busy delivering on product announcements that were made earlier this year. Now, they have announced that Federal’s Rob Roberts Raptor Steel shotgun shells, Remington’s Premier AccuTip MZ muzzleloading bullets, and Federal’s 7mm Backcountry Elite Hunter 195-Grain ammunition have all become available and are shipping.

Federal and Remington @ TFB:

Federal’s New 7mm Backcountry Elite Hunter 195-Grain Loads Now Shipping

The 7mm Backcountry is an inspiring and curious round that has been light in ammo availability since its announcement, but that is improving everyday. This long-action non-magnum, centerfire rifle hunting load - Federal Premium Elite Hunter 195-grain 7mm Backcountry - is currently being delivered to retailers nationwide.

“Anoka, Minnesota - July, 2025 - Federal Ammunition launched 7mm Backcountry earlier this year, and retailers are stocking shelves with this revolutionary technology.

“We specifically designed all the dimensions of this new cartridge to be able to accept the longest, heaviest bullets the current marketplace has to offer, such as this one from Berger,” said Eric Miller, Federal's Centerfire Rifle Product Line Manager. “The Berger Elite Hunter’s thin jacket produces effective shock and wound cavity on impact. This 195-grain bullet achieves 2,850 fps out of a 20-inch barrel and has a G1 BC of .755.””

Premier AccuTip MZ Now Available from Remington Ammunition

Next, we have Remington’s acclaimed muzzleloading bullet that will be ready ahead of fall muzzleloading seasons. These new bullets are now available on the Remington website and at authorized Remington retailers across the country.

“Lonoke, Arkansas - July, 2025 - Remington Ammunition is pleased to announce the availability of its all-new Premier AccuTip MZ, bringing the accuracy and on-game performance of Premier AccuTip ammunition into the world of muzzleloading.
“We are excited to announce that our only bonded sabot is shipping to retailers and consumers nationwide,” said Remington Director of Centerfire Products Kris Carson. “Designed for muzzleloader hunting with both modern or traditional caliber rifles, Premier AccuTip MZ provides muzzleloaders with the accuracy and performance they have come to know and expect from Remington.””

Federal’s New Rob Roberts Raptor Steel Now Shipping

Finally, Federal Ammunition had launched a new waterfowl hunting ammunition line (announced earlier this year) in Rob Roberts Raptor Steel. These shotgun shells are a collaboration with experts at the Rob Roberts Custom Gunworks as well as Federal engineers to design a specialized waterfowl load, which pairs heavy payloads and high shot counts to put more pellets on target through Raptor Series chokes. These are currently being delivered to retailers nationwide.

“Anoka, Minnesota - July, 2025 - “Rob Roberts and his team helped us develop these customized loads, which pair heavy payloads and high pellet counts with carefully selected velocities proven to put more pellets on target,” said Federal’s Shotshell Product Director, Dan Compton. “The loads combine Federal’s high-performance primers and clean-burning propellant to deliver lethal shot strings through the advanced Raptor choke design.”
“These new loads are pure poison with looks that kill, and it flat-out crushes ducks and geese,” said Rob Roberts. “Federal’s standard, blue-box, Speed-Shok loads have always been a go-to for me. And with our help, this new load is that standard on steroids. The heavy 1 3/8-ounce set at an ideal speed of 1,400 fps that produces an unbelievable, consistent pattern priced right for its performance level. Precise, killer patterns are what make any hunter successful. This balanced load delivers on that.””

From waterfowl loads to big-game hunting to late-season muzzleloader, there are a lot of new products and ammunition out in the wild for us to try this fall. Which one would you like to deploy out in the field?... As always, let us know all of your thoughts in the Comments below! We always appreciate your feedback.
