If you want hard-hitting rifle power in a small, high-quality package, we’ve got good news. The Christensen Modern Precision Pistol is back in production again, with two calibers announced for the first re-launch run.

Big power, small package @ TFB:

High-powered pistol performance

You might remember the Modern Precision Pistol from when we first told you about it, back when it launched originally in 2021. You can read Matt’s whole write-up here, but the important part is this:

Weighing in at between 4.4 to 5.8lbs depending on calibre, the bolt action pistol offers precision in a package that can fit into a standard backpack. The pistol is available in 300BLK, .223 Rem, 6.5 Creed and .308 Winchester with barrel lengths ranging from 7.5in to 12.5in.

That’s a very small package for that kind of firepower, although it’s worth noting this is a pistol only in the eyes of the law—the ergos are 100 percent carbine, with a folding stock that gives you a full length of pull.

The new Modern Precision Pistol appears to be the same idea. For now, it’s only available chambered in .308 or 6.5 Creedmoor. It comes with a 416R stainless steel, carbon-wrapped 12.5-inch barrel with a target profile, with threaded muzzle and brake. The chassis is black-anodized 7075 aluminum with V-block bedding; it’s compatible with standard AR grips.

The machined receiver has a black nitride finish, with QD mounts for easy sling attachment. The handguard is made of carbon fiber, with M-LOK slots so you can add accessories easily. An SB Tactical FS1913A folding stabilizing brace gets the overall length down quickly from its open, ready-to-use length of 33.25 inches.

The Modern Precision Pistol ships with a TriggerTech flat trigger, oversized tactical bolt knob, forward-mount rail. MSRP starts at $2,295; the gun is available through Christensen dealers. Find more info here.
