The M40A5 sniper rifle

You don’t have to join the Army to visit a lot of strange and interesting places. As long as you follow TFB’s Photo Of The Day, you’re sure to experience the Globe and the World of firearms safely from behind your screen.

Above you’re looking at U.S. Navy Petty Officer 3rd Class Bryce Meeker as he sights into an M40A5 sniper rifle during exercise Forest Light at Somagahara, Japan. Forest Light was one of the various bilateral training opportunities conducted by Japanese Ground Self Defense and forward deployed U.S. Marine Corps forces.

Below: A good spotter makes life a lot easier for the sniper.

Below: The M40A5 Sniper rifle. Interesting choice of paint.

Below: Shooting from a tripod is not as easy as it looks. Have you ever tried it?

Two clays down, a few to go.

All photos by U.S. Marine Corps photo, MCIPAC Combat Camera Lance Cpl. Juan C. Bustos. The photos are from 2017.
