Semiquincentennial Fever: Ruger’s New Limited Editions
Sturm Ruger & Company has announced a new 250th Anniversary Series of firearms, marking the United States semiquincentennial with a range of limited-production models. Each firearm in the series is marked “Made in the 250th Year of American Liberty,” echoing Ruger’s earlier Bicentennial commemorative releases from 1976. The lineup spans multiple product families, including the 10/22 rifle, LCP MAX pistol, Ruger American Gen II rifle, Mark IV 22/45 pistol, Super Wrangler revolver, and an AR-pattern lower receiver.
The models are based on existing platforms and maintain their standard configurations, with the primary distinction being the commemorative markings tied to the 250-year anniversary. Ruger positions the series as both functional firearms and potential long-term collectibles. I guess that means don’t be afraid to use them, but I’m more of a shooter than a collector.
The 10/22 Rimfire 250th Anniversary, with a BX-trigger and “freedom-inspired” engraved Altamont walnut stock and the special engraving on the receiver.
For $769, we’re in .308 Win territory, with the Ruger American Rifle Generation II, in Liberty Blue Splatter.
Alongside the anniversary firearm lineup, Ruger is also reintroducing its standard stripped AR-15 lower receiver. This lower is machined from 7075-T6 forged aluminum, finished with hardcoat anodizing, and built to mil-spec dimensions for compatibility with a wide range of AR components.
Suggested retail is $129, and Ruger may have my attention right here, although I might be missing a click on the switch.
With this release, Ruger adds a commemorative offering across several of its most popular platforms while also continuing to support the AR builder market with a standalone lower receiver option.
The Super Wrangler Limited edition model features a special "Made in the 250th Year of American Liberty" engraving on the barrel to commemorate America's 250th Anniversary. Suggested retail is $339.

If you had to engrave your own “anniversary” gun, what would it say?
