Steen Defense introduced its long‑requested MCRC (Multicaliber Combat Rifle Compact), a compact 5.56×45mm NATO carbine developed as a reinforcement weapon for users who do not primarily serve in front‑line combat roles. Intended for police and military personnel who need more capability than a service pistol or submachine gun can provide, the MCRC is said to fill a niche few manufacturers address in this caliber and size category - at least within Europe.

The platform is delivered as a complete, mission‑ready package that includes optics, magazines and a suppressor, with all aftermarket service, maintenance and repairs handled directly by Steen Defense.

Developed, designed and manufactured in Sweden, the MCRC offers a lightweight footprint of 2.6 kg, an adjustable length of 62 to 70.5 cm, and an effective range of roughly 200 meters, providing compact dimensions without sacrificing functional reach.

Maybe that's new to Sweden. I live in Texas. Probably huge difference in gun culture but, I've had a seven and a half inch AR-15 with a suppressor chambered in .223/5.56 for like 10 years. I'm not in the military. I'm not in law enforcement. Now, In the last 3 years, I build custom firearms for law enforcement and the private sector. I can do all that and painted any color you want, any trigger you want, any optic you want, any configuration to get everything of. My only limitation is your budget and imagination. This is not news maybe in Sweden it is?

FaxTheZoo, the entire point of the AR market is user-customization. The eye relief on the weapon in the photo is extreme if the shooter has the stock at full extension.
