Compact, Clear, Capable: GPO’s Passion APO 16–48×65 Spotting Scope
German Precision Optics (GPO) has introduced its newest addition to the Passion APO line: the Passion APO 16–48×65mm spotting scope. Designed as a more compact alternative to the larger APO 20–60×85mm model, the new 65mm version aims to deliver high-end optical performance in a lighter and more portable package suited for hunters, birders, and general outdoor observation.

The spotting scope is built around an internal magnesium frame with full rubber armoring to withstand field use and harsh weather. Its apochromatic lens system is said to reduce chromatic aberration, while GPO’s GPObright high-transmission coatings are intended to improve light throughput and overall image clarity. A sliding sunshade is integrated into the objective housing for managing glare in bright conditions.
Focusing is handled by a precision-machined helical brass gear system designed for smooth control, even when used with gloves. The spotting scope also includes a locking rotational tripod collar, allowing users to set the viewing angle to match their position or terrain.
The Passion APO 16–48×65mm is supported by GPO’s Spectacular Lifetime Warranty. The company states that no registration or warranty card is needed; damaged or defective optics will be repaired or replaced.
