Beretta USA has reintroduced the M9A1 9mm pistol to the U.S. commercial market. The M9A1, a stalwart of U.S. military service and a familiar platform to shooters around the world, is once again available to American buyers. The M9A1 keeps the practical, duty-focused features that made it a go-to service pistol: a beveled magazine well for faster reloads, user-selectable 10- or 15-round magazines, and classic 3-dot sights. Built on decades of military development, it prioritizes durability and straightforward, battle-proven performance rather than gimmicks.

The Beretta M9 @ TFB:

“The M9A1 has proven itself as a sidearm that can be relied upon in the most demanding environments,” said Broxton Carlile, Beretta USA Pistol Product Manager. “We’re excited to make it available again to those who want a true piece of military history paired with the reliability of Beretta engineering.”

The Beretta M9A1 features:

  • Ambidextrous Slide Safety and Decocker – Dual controls provide versatile handling and added confidence under stress.
  • Short Reset Trigger Bar – Reduces trigger travel for faster, more accurate follow-up shots.
  • Front and Backstrap Checkering – Ensures a secure, non-slip grip for maximum control in any conditions.
  • Frame-Mounted MIL-STD-1913 Rail – Allows for seamless integration of tactical lights and lasers for mission-ready adaptability.

Each pistol ships with two magazines. The M9A1 is available now through authorized Beretta dealers across the country, with an MSRP of $829. Beretta is also offering a California-compliant version with a 10-round magazine. For those who live in other places, let’s remind you that it’s possible to get a Beretta 92FS magazine, which holds 30 rounds of 9mm.

There was a pause in production during the pandemic, but they started popping up again afterwards. I think most of the recent ones were the 10-round SKU made for the CA market. Manufacturers tend to hang onto CA roster models as long as possible due to the massive headache involved in getting anything new approved there.

That's nice. I liked the green one tfb showed a while back. I still want a 92 but circumstances keep conspiring against me. House and car need maintained first. Then I get to buy toys.
