JP Enterprises from Minnesota has just released a new version of their famous JP-5 Roller Delayed 9 mm Carbine. At the recent PCC World Championship, I saw a ton of these JP-5s, but in more competition-style configurations. This is a custom configuration for the JP-5 platform designed to be a low-profile, easily concealable weapon for security and law enforcement. It's available as either a short-barrelled rifle with the Maxim Defense CQB buttstock or as an AR pistol with the Maxim Defense PDW brace.

JP Rifles @ TFB:

The custom 6" barrel is designed to be recessed beneath the MK III Rapid Configuration handguard for low-profile mounting of a 9mm suppressor of your choice.

At the heart of the JP-5 Suppressor-Ready PDW is a billet-machined lower receiver paired with JP’s PSC-5™ dual-charging upper, giving users both traditional rear and side charging options. Chambered in 9mm, this compact pistol-caliber carbine features a 6-inch Supermatch barrel with a light contour profile and a 1:10 twist rate. The barrel is finished in black Teflon and recessed to sit flush with a suppressor, giving it a clean profile even when suppressed. It comes standard with a KAK Industry flash can, but the crown is cut to run a suppressor right out of the box.

The JP-5 runs on JP's roller-delayed blowback system, a departure from traditional direct blowback PCCs, known for its smoother cycling and controllable recoil. That smoothness is further enhanced by the inclusion of JP’s custom Silent Captured Spring system in the buffer tube.

Up top, a Radian Raptor-LT charging handle and low-profile side charger allow for flexible, ambidextrous handling. The trigger is a clean, curved unit with a 3.5–4 lb pull, tuned for fast follow-up shots. In case you haven’t tried one yet, JP are famous for their sweet triggers!

Total length sits at just 22.5 inches, with an unloaded weight of around 5.7 pounds.

The JP-5 PDW feeds from Glock magazines and is built for shooters who want premium performance in a low-profile, suppressor-ready package. This model is offered as the firearm alone or as a complete carry package, including five 31-round magazines, all packaged in the Eberlestock Cheap Trick backpack. The “pack price” is $4,349, and the rifle only is $3,949, with a $50.00 addition for the SBR stock.
