Springfield Armory Gear Up Promo 2024: Get A Free 2020 Rimfire Rifle

Springfield Armory has a new Gear Up promotion for 2024. Purchasers of a Waypoint 2020 or Redline 2020 centerfire rifle can get a free Model 2020 Rimfire Target rifle. That rimfire rifle has an MSRP of $434, so this is quite a bit more valuable than the usual spare magazines in the Gear Up promo!

Springfield Armory @ TFB:

The centerfire 2020 rifle is available in .308 Winchester, 6.5 Creedmoor, 6mm Creedmoor, or 6.5 PRC. Springfield guarantees 0.75 MOA accuracy on any version. The rimfire version is scaled down and feeds from the ubiquitous 10/22-pattern magazine, and has a threaded barrel for suppressor use.

Anyone who redeems a 2020 Rimfire through this program has the option to add on a Viridian EON 3-9×40 scope for $49.99. That upgrade includes appropriate scope rings. This promotion runs through December 31st, 2024, so there is plenty of time to cash in. That end date is for the purchase of a Model 2020 centerfire rifle, not the final date for submission. Buyers can submit their claim until January 31st, 2025 so long as the gun was purchased in 2024.

From the manufacturer:

Beginning May 1st, customers who purchase any new Springfield Armory® Model 2020 Waypoint or Model 2020 Redline rifle will qualify to receive a “Gear Up” package featuring a free Model 2020 Rimfire Target rifle worth $434. The rifle features a reinforced black synthetic stock modeled after that of the Model 2020 Waypoint.

In addition to the free Rimfire Target, the purchaser will also be offered the option of upgrading the rifle with a Viridian® EON 3-9×40 rimfire rifle scope for just $49.99 at the time of redemption. The EON from Viridian features fully multi-coated lenses, tactile windage and elevation adjustments, waterproof/shockproof/fogproof construction and a limited lifetime warranty.

You could buy a Waypoint and get a free 22 LR. Or......you could buy a Bergara HMR which has a similar accuracy guarantee and either a Tikka T1X or a CZ 457 for the same money. The second option all 3 guns have a huge aftermarket should you want to mod them later. The Springfield options, not as much. Actually that sounds like a good, albeit an expensive idea. I'm currently looking for a 308 bolt action. I'm also a sucker for anything 22 LR related. Sounds like I have a plan to spend way too much money yet again.
