Load Up on Magazines and Ammo at The Mag Shack

We’ve covered the Mag Shack before in a previous article talking about how they can help you find some more obscure rifle and pistol magazines that aren’t normally found on some of the larger online retailers out there. In addition to finding mags you’re missing, the Mag Shack also offers fairly priced shipping that’s quick meaning if you’re in a pinch before a big match or a fun weekend shoot, you can probably get the ones you want shipped to you before you head out for the weekend. The Mag Shack can also help you fill those magazines with their well-stocked ammunition selection. Today we’ll explore a few of the options that they have and see how their prices compare to the going averages on the web.

Load Up on Magazines and Ammo at The Mag Shack
The Mag Shack stocks and sells a wide variety of common rifle and pistol cartridges including 9mm, 10mm, 5.56, .223, .30-30 Win, 5.7×28, .22LR, .300 BLK, 6.8 SPC, and a smattering of the latest and greatest spicy rifle and pistol ammo like 7.5 FK, and 7mm PRC. Chances are that if you’re looking for something that isn’t a niche PRS rifle cartridge, the Mag Shack will have it, and it’ll likely be in stock.
I shoot a lot of .22LR for our weekly series The Rimfire Report. Of all the varieties of .22LR that I use, I probably shoot plain old CCI Standard Velocity 40gr the most. At the Mag Shack, you can pick up quantities of 500, 2500, or 5000. Starting at $37.99 per 500-round case (about 8 cents per round) up to $337.99 for a 5,000-round case (just under 7 cents per round) you can pick up enough .22LR to last you either two-weekend steel challenge matches or enough to last you ten weekends – whatever you’re in the mood for.
In addition to CCI Standard Velocity, The Mag Shack also keeps in stock some more affordable plinking ammo like Armscor High-Velocity 40grain, CCI Blazer 38grain, Winchester Super-X Hyper Velocity 40grain, 40gr Automatch, and Aguila’s Super Extra 40gr Solid Point ammo. It’s not the most impressive collection of .22LR I’ve seen on the web but their prices are certainly pretty fair for standard pricing.
.300BLK
The .300BLK is fast becoming one of the most popular rifle cartridges for the AR-15 platform and even in some bolt-action platforms. Whatever you use it for, I think most people agree that running your .300BLK rifle not only suppressed but with subsonic ammunition is the way to go. The Mag Shack carries the very popular SIG brand of both supersonic and subsonic ammunition as well as AMMO Inc’s /stelTH/ 220gr subsonic ammunition for $21 per box, and Hornady’s 190gr SUB-X subsonic hunting ammunition featuring a 190-grain Subsonic – eXpanding bullet that excels at expansion at low velocities.
Is the FK BRNO still a thing?
If you’re one of the lucky people who happens to own one of the several different varieties of the spicy FK BRNO pistol, you’ll probably still be struggling to find ammo for it if you want to shoot it at all. While The Mag Shack can’t offer you wildly lower prices on the 7.5 FK cartridge, it at least has it available in boxes of 50. You’ll pay an arm and a leg for this type of ammo pretty much anywhere you go but if you’re interested in picking some up, The Mag Shack carries IFG FK BRNO featuring a 101-grain FMJ projectile, as well as 14-round 7.5 FK magazines (which are ironically less expensive than the ammo).
.45 ACP still hasn’t fallen out of favor in the modern age even with the widespread adoption and increased capabilities of the much more ubiquitous 9mm cartridge. .45 ACP is still favored by many simply because it’s what they are used to carrying and shooting and if I’m being perfectly honest, shooting a suppressed 1911 pistol with some subsonic 230-grain ammunition is probably about as fun as it gets when it comes to suppressed pistols.
The Mag Shack carries inexpensive AMMO Inc, and PMC Bronze ammo (about $.50 cents per round), as well as S&B’s 230gr FMJ, and SIG Sauer V-Crown 230gr JHP self-defense ammunition. In addition, The Mag Shack also carries Federal’s American Eagle 230gr FMJ 100-round bulk pack for $50 for those range days where you want to get a few more reps in.
Rifle, Pistol, Shotgun, They’ve got you Covered
The examples listed above are just a few of the standard and non-standard offerings that the Mag Shack has available to you. So if you’re just looking to get some pistol practice in with your 9mm, or you’re gearing up for an exciting pistol hunt with your FK BRNO pistol, you can find something to not only feed your gun but fill up your magazines with. In addition to their standard shipping price of $5.99, The Mag Shack also offers express shipping if you really need some ammo or a couple of mags for a hunt or a competition, Simply reach out to them and they’ll work with you to see if they can accommodate your request.
