by James Reeves

This video is the ULTIMATE Beretta 1301 versus Beretta A300 Patrol comparison. In this episode of TFBTV, James Reeves answers this burning “1301 or A300” question with the help of three experts: famed shooter and gunsmith Ernest Langdon, the notorious second-generation shotgun instructor Matt Haught, and Ben Grundwerg, a clever Beretta Product Manager who helped develop the Beretta A300 Ultima Patrol. It’s literally impossible to assemble a more competent and authoritative panel of guests than the men in this video to help you decide which shotgun you should pick up. (And also James is there)

Has anybody but me ever thought about the question, what to load into a shotgun for home-defence? I mean: Sure, right?

So, those "tactical loads" mentioned in the vid for the A300 - they might go through the walls of your home! And what, if you are not single?

So, bird shot as the first shell just for the terror of the intruder seems quite legitimate!

Pump Action it is for home-defence! Pump Action! Bird shot, buck shot, slug....

Disclaimer: I am from Europeland and use only small caliber. For me, this is just hypothetical...But who knows.. One day, pursuit of happiness and all.

As a guy who was issued a stock bead sight Remington 870 as his first duty shotgun I'm sure the A300 will be hands down easier and faster to shoot, where I'm disappointed is that there is no adjustable length of pull for shorter arms or body armor. Also only the three small areas at the end of the handguard for mounting lights or other items is equally disturbing, I believe this gun was developed less for "patrol" and more for entry level 3 gun.
