With 2024 certainly being the year of the lever-action rifle, it only seems natural this trend will keep on trucking into 2025. While many of the big brands are releasing all kinds of updated or completely new lever-action rifles and pistols, there is still somehow a corner of this market the gun industry seems reluctant to slap m-lock rails and red dots on and promote. I’m of course talking about the Lever Action Shotgun.

Over/under shotguns have long occupied a unique position in the market - respected for their reliability and classic handling, but can often be priced out of reach for many shooters. Stevens, a division of Savage Arms, aims to solve this with their 555 series. While some might dismiss Turkish-made shotguns, the 555 and its variations have earned a reputation for delivering fundamental quality at an attainable price point. In what could be described as shooting decadence, Blaser has announced its FBX Competition Shotgun that most of us might like to handle, but few of us will ever have the bacon to own. Mossberg has announced two additions to its 590M lineup: the 590M Professional Series Mag-Fed shotguns and the 590M Breacher. Both models use the 590M’s double-stack magazine system, designed for increased capacity.
