EAA Announces Girsan MC P35 Ops Optic Red Dot Compatible Model
EAA released a new model in their Girsan MC P35 Ops line, the Ops Optic. It adds red dot compatibility to the other modernization features of the Ops model. This brings many characteristics of more modern pistols to the classic design of the Hi-Power family.

The market for Hi-Power clones has been very hot in recent years. EAA began importing a basic model from Girsan in Turkey, then added upgraded models like the Match and Ops. These upgrades include an accessory rail, flat face trigger, extended beavertail, and removed magazine disconnect safety.
Their new Ops Optic (Ops-tic? Op²tic?) model incorporates an RMS/RMSc/Holosun cut for direct optics mounting. An EAA Far-Sight red dot is installed from the factory. This model was anticipated by some due to the cutout in the shipping case, which is clearly sized to accommodate a red dot.

The all-steel construction, short recoil operated MC P35 OPS Optic offers a wealth of features for both the average shooter and competitive shooter including an extended beavertail, fiber optic front sight, G10 grips, straight clean-break trigger, beveled magwell & windage/elevation adjustable rear sight, no magazine disconnect, an integrated accessory rail, and it comes with an EAA FAR-DOT sight factory installed. The red dot is directly mounted to the pistol and does not require an adaptor plate for any optics that feature the RMS/RMSc footprint and it includes unique modifications for Holosun® optics, making it one of the most universal patterns for compact pistol designs.

I know some people will be happy about this, but I'm not thrilled with the loss of the basic rear sight.
Ideally, it would have an independent rear sight and an optional optic mount, rather than including a red dot rear sight with integrated rear sight.
Nice pistol, but the 8+ pound trigger pull is a real negative. Typical?
