New SB Tactical HKPDW Brace For MP5 Pistols Now Shipping

At SHOT Show 2019, SB Tactical brought the prototype of the HKPDW collapsing brace designed for H&K MP5 pattern pistols. It is the company’s second brace designed for this weapon system with the first one being a side folder and resembling the fixed MP5 stock’s silhouette. I bet many of you have been waiting for the release of the new collapsing brace to make your MP5 pistol look like an MP5A3. Well, the wait is over – it is now available for purchase.
The SB Tactical HKPDW Pistol Stabilizing Brace is a 3-position adjustable brace. The lengths of the brace are 3.2″, 5.3″ and 8″ when it is fully collapsed, on its mid position and fully extended respectively. The overall weight is 29.25 oz. The width at the thickest portion is 2″.
The base/adapter of HKPDW brace is made of 6061 aluminum and has a hard coat anodized finish. It also features integrated QD sling swivel sockets. The two sliding rods are made of steel and the actual brace is, of course, a rubber/polymer part with a 1″ nylon adjustment strap.
The HKPDW comes as an assembled unit and is compatible with “MP5 and MP5K Reverse Stretch clones“. You should be able to swap it on most of the MP5 clones on the market, however, the company notes that “Due to varying tolerances between roller lock manufacturers, gunsmith installation / fitting may be required.”
The SB Tactical HKPDW brace is listed on the company’s website at an MSRP of $329.99. It is available in black color option only.
Find SB Tactical Braces for MP5 Pistols
I think there is no need to ask what do you think about the SB Tactical braces in general because you already told us once that you consider their braces some of the best firearm accessories. But for those of you who own MP5s or clones, what do you think about converting it into an MP5A3 lookalike?

I know that collapsible stocks & AK underfolders suck, but they look cool and we all know that’s what matters. So I’ll probably get one once the initial rush is over.
I’ve been looking for a collapsible stock, but the only options I’ve seen are either too expensive (factory HK) or still expensive & poor quality (new style POF).
When that brace goes on sale it will be a relative bargain compared to even a used HK stock and I’ve been happy with the quality of the other SB braces I have.
Plenty of time to kit-up and hit the Nakatomi Plaza on Christmas!
