POF-USA New Renegade Rifle

I was talking with the good folks at POF-USA today and they told me of a new rifle they will be shipping in four weeks. It’s called the Renegade. They built this rifle after putting together customer request for these features.

TFB will be doing a full article on it in about five weeks. This is the basic information we have on it at this time but there’s more to come!

Another $2000 AR..... Give me a break you can build one for half that price!!!

  @Lance Not all AR's are created equal though Lance. Sure you can build an AR for very little but it probably won't be that accurate, durable or one that will last long enough to hand down to the next generation.

  @Phil W "Associate Editor TFB" Ummm... I would disagree with that.
  Upper and lower receiver (forged) sets can be had for 100 bucks. 250 for a FN CHF CL barrel. 200 for a great FF rail, or less for F-marked sight post and traditional handguard. Irons (I prefer DD, set for 100). Quality (158cpt, hpt/mpi) BCG can now be had for 100 or less sometimes. Magpul LBK - $140, asstd extra parts, we're still under a grand here.

How many "new" ARs can there be? Never had a mini 14, shot a few, they hit what I shot at. Give me one of those, keep the new ARs. Not a matter of which is better/worse, I just like a civilian rifle to look like a rifle. Right now my shotgun has to do. Not about to hang a bunch of bells and whistles on it either. Yes, I know ARs are a religious symbol, I'm not religious. Choices are wonderful, make them while you can.

  @anomad101 Ok Elmer.
  I've had both. The Mini-14 has its advantages but they are few. Magazines are expensive (because the only ones worth a damn are Ruger factory) and not exactly the easiest things to rock in. It's ammo sensitive and doesn't handle dirt well because everything's exposed. And when it's time to clean it, well, yeah.
  You can make em prittay, too, if you want.

  @Sianmink Then I'll stick with my shotgun, civilian use. If I need a military clone, I'll get one. No comment on the "elmer" crack. Trying to stay civil. Pretty don't matter, as long as it can cook. I was using an M-16 in 1965 in a bad neighborhood.
