FN Herstal has introduced the FN PUREVIEW, a holographic micro red dot sight built for military, law enforcement, and special operations use. The optic is making its U.S. debut this week at the NRA Annual Meetings & Exhibits in Houston, running April 16-19, before heading to EUROSATORY in Paris in June.

Welcome back to another TFB review. This week, I wanted to take a look at a grail gun that I have always wanted since I was a young man watching action films. There are some firearms that are just the definition of cool factor and even though you won't be able to buy them, they still can be idolized in your head. Late last year, I decided I was going to go for it and pursue my childhood dream of owning a SAW, even if it's the 249S version. I have had this rifle for a few months now and have had some time to get behind it. Let's take a closer look at the FN M249 SAW.

When FN brought media to South Carolina last September, the 309 MRD and Next Gen SCAR rifles got most of the attention, but FN also unveiled their first purpose-built rifle suppressors for the consumer market, the QD556 and QD762. These aren't FN's first suppressors. They've been making cans for military contracts since 2011 and entered the commercial pistol suppressor market in 2022. What makes these different is they're designed specifically around the SCAR platform, though they'll work on other hosts too.

FN brought media out to Sawmill Training Complex in South Carolina back in September to show off what they've been working on, and the headline was clear. The SCAR is getting a complete overhaul. More than two dozen upgrades across the platform, suppressor capability baked in from the start, and FN claims they're holding the price at current SCAR levels. After spending a day shooting the new 16S, 17S, and 20S, the upgrades are real, but some details still need sorting.

Back in September, FN invited a handful of media folks out to South Carolina for an early look at what they've been working on. Among the lineup was something I didn't expect: a pistol aimed squarely at the operator, average Joe, and newbie alike. The FN 309 MRD is FN's attempt to crack into the consumer 9mm market with a gun that's supposed to be easy to shoot, easy to use, and easy to own. After putting around 300 rounds through it at Sawmill Training Complex in Laurens, I walked away thinking they might actually pull it off.

The FN Herstal FN Evolys machine gun was first introduced in 2021, with its patents traced back to 2017. In 2021, FN Herstal released a promotional video announcing a "New Chapter" for a revolutionary ultralight machine gun designed for modern warfare. This lightweight machine gun is available in two versions, chambered for 7.62x51mm and 5.56x45mm ammunition.

The latest iteration of FN’ s Reflex pistol was on display at SHOT Show 2025. This larger version features several design tweaks befitting the larger size. We also got to see some side-by-side comparisons with the original Reflex.
