POTD: Cabot Guns Apocalypse 2.0 Damascus 1911
Few pistols can claim the title of wearable art, but the Cabot Guns Apocalypse 2.0 makes a compelling argument. Building on the original Apocalypse introduced in 2020, Cabot's Pennsylvania craftsmen have refined the concept into something that sits at the absolute top of the 1911 world. The centerpiece is the stainless Damascus steel slide, forged by folding two grades of stainless steel using blacksmithing techniques that predate the firearm itself, then hand-etched to pull every contour and transition into sharp relief. No two slides share the same pattern. It is, as Cabot puts it, as unique as a fingerprint.
This particular example from Black Rose Firearms is chambered in 9mm and configured with a gold titanium threaded barrel and a Trijicon SRO optic cut, making it as capable of running a suppressor as it is of sitting under glass. I’m guessing it will be hard to find a Damascus suppressor, however. Â
The 416 stainless steel frame rides a one-piece extended magwell and main spring housing, beavertail grip safety with memory button, G10 grips, and Cabot's proprietary Advantage internal extractor, hand-fit for reliability. Front and rear cocking serrations, a lowered and flared ejection port, and Cabot's Ledge rear sight round out a package that's guaranteed to print 1.5" or better groups at 25 yards.
At $9,099.99, the Apocalypse 2.0 is unapologetically a statement piece, but one that will function at the highest level every time the trigger breaks.

She is a beautiful but not 9grand. If you have that kind of money and you can convince yourself that this is worth 9k, more power to you.
