POTD: “Can You Guess The Shutter Speed?”

Over the years, I have taken over 100,000 photos of guns and shooting competitions. It’s extremely rare to catch the bullet trace. My experience is that it only happens in certain lighting conditions, with certain shutter speeds and perhaps only when it’s humid? From a photographer who documents his local multi-gun matches, we had this image submitted for our Photo Of The Day.
"I got this sick snap today at the York IWLA Multigun event. 9.14.2025.
Have the readers guess the shutter speed."
Now I realize that most of our readers let their cell phone handle everything when they take a photo, so guessing the shutter speed from a more advanced camera might be complete wizardry.
The answer is 1/200th of a second. Does it mean that you automatically will catch bullets and trace on photos with this shutter speed? Sadly, no, so keep enjoying the few ones like this.
I have a contribution as well, from the past. I don’t know the shutter speed, but I know a good, aggressive grip when I see one.
