POTD: Beretta Gold Cup 2026 - Elite IPSC Competition in Malmö
The Beretta Gold Cup 2026 in Malmö, Sweden brought together elite IPSC competitors from all over the World, for a match that raised the bar on stage design and volunteer execution. What stood out immediately were the creative course-of-fire elements: moving targets triggered by sensors, innovative stage layouts, and carefully crafted designs that gave each stage its own character and challenge. There was even a stage with flames and fire, as you stepped on one of the activators.
Éric Grauffel is a French sport shooter and firearms instructor with ten overall IPSC Handgun World Champion wins. He can handle the PCC too, and I’m pretty sure that is a JP Rifles JP-5.
The level of detail evident throughout the competition, from stage construction to competitor hospitality, reflected an enormous commitment from match director Nicola Lo Presti and the shooting club Malmö Skyttegille.
Every element felt deliberately designed rather than hastily assembled, a refreshing contrast to events built primarily to maximize entries. The passion behind the match was palpable, radiating from every volunteer and official involved. Just look at some of the stage designs.

For shooters, the Beretta Gold Cup 2026 was an unforgettable experience. The combination of technical difficulty, creative problem-solving, and genuine warmth from hosts made this one of those competitions worth making the trip for. This is the standard elite IPSC events should aspire to.
