Mec-Gar METAL Glock Magazines With Added Capacity

Mec-Gar manufactures a huge range of magazines, many of which are OEM parts for gun makers. Their latest new product range is mags for the standard-size Glock 9mm pistols. Let’s take a closer look.

Glock magazines differ from most other handgun magazines by their construction. Rather than the standard steel bodies found in most pistol magazines, Glock uses a steel liner wrapped in a polymer exterior. This design has stood the test of time and is extremely reliable. Many other manufacturers have used Glock mags in their own products (hence the old “does it take Glock mags” joke) and that continues today.
Staccato announced the new HD series of pistols at SHOT Show 2025, which takes Glock magazines. Staccato also listed an 18-round capacity for those guns, which is unusual because full-size magazines of that pattern usually hold 17 rounds. As it turns out, Mec-Gar was supplying those mags. Mec-Gar also reports that a conversion to a metal magazine catch is not required, unlike prior metal conversion mags like those from Shield Arms for the Glock Slimline series.
From the manufacturer:
“If you are looking for a magazine for your Glock 17 pistol, choose the magazine manufacturer that is the most trusted in the industry.
All Mec-Gar magazines are made in Italy with the most sophisticated technologies and best materials.
Since 1965 Mec-Gar has been a world leader in the production of magazines for the largest firearm manufacturers and militaries in the world.”
Mec-Gar offers two models, a Glock 17-size model that holds 18 rounds, and a model for Glock 19 use. It too holds 18 rounds but it adds an outer sleeve to cover the portion of the magazine that would otherwise extend below the grip of the pistol. Both have listed retail prices of $29 and should be available mid-March, but some retailers already have them in stock for a few dollars less.

Worthless in Colorado, which has a DEMOCRAT-mandated 15-round mag limit.
Nice mags, especially the feature not requiring a metal mag release. Waiting for them to come out with ones for my Glock 48
