POTD: The Glock & Microtech G19K Knife

Microtech Knives just dropped the teaser image above, and honestly, it's enough or at least a really good start. The G19K is an OTF (out-the-front) automatic knife born from an official collaboration between Microtech and GLOCK, and the result looks exactly like what you'd expect when two companies with deeply devoted followings decide to combine their DNA into a single blade.

Details are essentially nonexistent at this point, hence this Photo Of The Day. Microtech is calling it "coming soon," and beyond confirming the G19K name and OTF format, there's nothing on steel, handle material, blade length, or price. The GLOCK aesthetic runs through the whole thing, though, and for fans of either brand, that's probably enough to bookmark the Microtech site and check back daily.

The real question nobody's asking but everyone's thinking: is the trigger on the deployment mechanism Glock-like in its simplicity, or did Microtech actually manage to improve on it? Considering Glock's trigger has been both the most praised and most aftermarket-modified component in pistol history, the bar is simultaneously very high and very low depending on who you ask. Or is this the only “Glock” with a switch you can legally own (at least in some States)?

I carry a Benchmade Pathion as my edc. I'm interested in blade steel and price. Though most Micro Techs are overpriced, they're overly fancy also. Perhaps this will be more reasonable???

Glock already makes a fixed blade and an entrenching tool, why didn't they just make their own folding or automatic knife? I'm sure it would've been cheaper...

Don't get me wrong, I'm going to be buying this, but it better be magnacut or m390 steel.
