Henry Adds More .22 Magnum Options
Henry Repeating Arms is in the middle of a bunch of tweaks to their rifle lineup this winter, and that means more magnums! Specifically, they’re taking two of their long-running rifles, models that are very popular with youth shooters specifically, and making them available in .22 Magnum.
Henry Repeating Arms @ TFB:
H1 classic upgrade
The Henry H1 is their classic lever-action rimfire, a tidy gun that’s manageable by shooters of almost all ages and sizes. They’ve had .22 Magnums built on this same action in the past, but not available in the specific H1 Youth model. Now, for 2026, that rifle and the Garden Gun version (a smoothbore), are both available in .22 Magnum.
Henry says, “For young hunters ready to take on small game and varmint with greater confidence, the Youth Model now offers the enhanced performance of .22 Magnum in a trim, field-friendly package.” The added velocity of .22 Magnum might make target shooting a tad easier, and if a kid wants to go blasting jackrabbits, woodchucks or other small game, the added jam of .22 Magnum cartridges certainly won’t hurt.
This rifle weighs only 4.5 pounds and comes with a very manageable 16.5-inch barrel. Magazine capacity with .22 Magnum chambering is 10 rounds for the H1 Classic Youth Model. Iron sights come standard, and the rifle’s receiver is grooved for a 3/8 -inch rimfire scope mount. MSRP is $540. See more details here.
As for the Garden Gun version, you can actually buy .22 Magnum shotshells, which might pack a bit more jam than the .22LR shotshells you may have seen at your local gun store. These are specifically designed for blasting backyard pests, with smoothbore barrels. This model comes with an 18.5-inch barrel and has a 12-round capacity. MSRP is $605. See more details here.
