Glock is bringing additional capacity to some existing pistols. In a social media post, we got our first official look at new 15-round magazines coming to the G44 .22 LR pistol and the slimline 9mm models. Let’s take a look at what we know.

Glock @ TFB:

Details are scarce as of writing. What we do know is that these magazines are coming out in May to Glock dealers. But we can gather more from the picture, and from other appearances these magazines have made. The new 9mm slimline magazine is compatible with the G43x and G48 pistols.

One of the main complaints about current expanded capacity magazines for those guns is the need for an aftermarket steel magazine catch. Glockstore has these magazines listed for pre-order now, and they have some close-up images of the magazines. Looking at those pictures and the official image from Glock, it is clear that the indentation where the magazine catch interfaces is solid rather than the hole seen on some aftermarket options. The edges and corners are also rounded. Will this be compatible with the standard plastic magazine catch? We will see.

Glockstore has these magazines listed for $31.99 for preorder.

The other new item coming out is a Glock 44 magazine that holds 15 rounds. It still has the general layout of the original 10-rounder, with a finger tab accessible through a cutout in the side of the magazine. That's about the sum total of the information about this magazine. Will these magazines and the 9mm expanded capacity models be included from the factory with new guns? We will have to wait and see!

Glock was selling both of these at NRAAM. I bought two for my G48. They do work with the plastic magazine catch (because no sharp edges) and are drop free. But not sure I see an advantage of them over the PSA Dagger mags I use in the G48 with no issues.
