Concealed Carry Corner: The Carry Guns Of TFB

Welcome back to another edition of Concealed Carry Corner. Last week, we took a look at a few options when it comes to affordable carry guns. If you happened to miss that article, be sure to click the link here to give that article a quick read. This week, I thought it would be fun to take a look at what our writers and editors actually carry on a daily basis. We can give you advice and write about things all day, but what do we actually carry? Let’s take a closer look at the carry guns of TFB.
Concealed Carry Corner: The Carry Guns Of TFB
My Personal Carry Guns
When it comes to my personal carry guns, I will typically carry a Glock 48 for the vast majority of the year. This handgun is the perfect size and capacity for my personal needs. I carry it with a Trijicon RMRcc as well as a Shield Arms 15-round magazine. This is an extremely compact pistol that offers 15+1 so that’s why I chose this particular pistol as my general everyday carry. I’m not the only one with this thinking on this list, it’s certainly a great choice.
When the weather gets cold, I will carry a SIG Sauer P226 Elite as a larger winter option. If you have read my articles in the past, you probably know just how much I love this pistol. Some may prefer a striker-fired pistol but the P226 was one of the first full-size pistols I had which I have put thousands and thousands of rounds through. I trust this gun with my life and it’s one of the few guns I know will work no matter what. These are the two most popular guns for me to carry, but what do the others like to carry?
Josh C
Our Editor in Chief Josh lives in a rural area. He works on his property and wants something that he can comfortably carry every single day without having to deal with any extra bulk or complicate anything. Josh’s main carry is the Glock 43X which gives him everything he needs in a carry gun but without any unnecessary bulk or added weight. The Glock 43X can do everything that my Glock 48 can do but in a smaller package. I carry the slightly longer version for more stability and a third point of contact when it comes to carrying all day.
Josh wanted to keep his carry gun consistent all year round with little to no effort about what he wanted to wear or carry. This setup with a Raven Concealment holster allows you to carry comfortably all day long with no effort or the need to switch out your clothes to accommodate a gun. Out of everyone on this list, Josh has a no-frills approach and keeps it simple. For that, I salute you sir, and give you credit!
Adam S
Adam S is another long-time writer, editor for All Outdoor, and just someone I can truly call a friend. If anyone has read Adam’s articles, you can probably guess his carry gun. That’s right kids, it’s a Springfield Hellcat Pro Comp OSP. Adam has this setup equipped with a Vortex Defender CCW red dot but the photo has his old setup with an AT3 red dot on it. He also has a Streamlight TLR7 equipped. This setup is fairly typical of someone who shoots regularly and has learned what they like in gear to create something they know will work for them in a self-defense situation.
Adam is all about fitness and making yourself the best possible version of yourself so his gun is a reflection of that. Adam is a fit individual, so he prefers to carry in an appendix holster and can daily conceal the holster with a spare magazine. Out of the guns on this list, this one feels like the most personalized and I respect Adam for picking an interesting choice that may not be the most common option. Keep being you, Adam!
Luke C
When I started to have the conversation about what gun Luke carries daily, I thought he was joking but his absolute favorite thing to carry on a daily basis is his Smith & Wesson Bodyguard 2.0. Currently, Luke carries his Bodyguard 2.0 in a pocket Sticky holster but plans on getting an IWB holster soon. One of the biggest positives about having a small carry gun is the ability to just throw it in your pocket and go on with your day.
I can truly appreciate the minimalistic approach and there’s nothing extra when it comes to Luke’s carry gun. He has no light or red dot or any other accessory. Just the basic items he needs to protect himself. It’s certainly a different approach from the rest of the group but I love the simplistic carry setup from Luke. Great job buddy!
Daniel Y
Daniel Y is another big Glock fan with a similar Glock 48. The specific model that he carries is one of the Glock 48 MOS variants with a Raven Vanguard 2 holster and Shield Arms 15-round magazine. The only add-ons that he put on the gun were a Holosun red dot, along with a precut grip tape addition to add more texture to the grip for better control of the firearm if your hands are wet or you don’t get a fantastic grip right out of the gate.
Daniel also said he enjoys carrying his Smith & Wesson 442 revolver but it is usually a backup option or for deep concealment. When it comes to just carrying every day, he did say he carries his Glock 48 MOS about 90% of the time, which is almost exactly what I do as well. It’s a relatively low-profile carry option with no frills and everything you need. Great pick Daniel!
Doug E
Doug E has been with TFB for a number of years now and I love seeing his choice in firearms over the years. Currently, Doug is carrying the new CZ P-09 C Noctume with a Holosun red dot as his main carry. This is the updated version of the P-07 handgun. Doug carries his CZ most of the time, but if it's during the hot months or he needs to be able to conceal a smaller handgun, he also carries a Smith & Wesson CSX as his smaller option.
Doug wrapped the CSX with some goon tape and called it a day. I think it's awesome to see him take an interesting choice firearm and make it his own. These choices aren’t the most common but still fantastic nonetheless. I respect Doug both as a shooter and a writer so great job with some cool choices man!
Overall Thoughts
This is more of a lighthearted and fun edition of Concealed Carry Corner, but it should show just how different guns can be that are carried on a daily basis. There’s no set up that is the correct answer for everyone. We all have different holster and gun choices and even what size handgun we want to carry. There is certainly no wrong answer here and it’s perfectly fine if you have a different taste to your friends or others around you who carry a concealed firearm.
