Concealed Carry Corner: My Top 5 Carry Guns of 2025
Welcome back to another edition of Concealed Carry Corner. Last week, we talked about fixed blades versus folding knives and whether they are a good idea to carry as a secondary weapon. If you happened to miss that article, be sure to click the link here to check it out. This week, I want to take a look back and reflect on some of the most carried guns of 2025 for me personally. I tend to keep track like an absolute crazy person, and in order of days carried, let's check out my top 5 carry guns of 2025.
5. Smith & Wesson 340 PD
One of the biggest surprises of 2024 was how easy it was to carry the 340 PD from Smith & Wesson. Now, my official TFB review of the 340 PD went live back in 2024 and instead of sending the gun back, I decided to purchase this straight from Smith & Wesson. In the past, I have talked really negatively about small revolvers, but if you're heading to the store or just looking to be armed without going through a lot to prepare with a belt and proper clothing, this gun is amazing for those quick trips to the gas station for extra-long slim jims. Combine the ultra-light frame with the ability to spit out full-power .357 Magnum and you have one of the hardest-hitting and most abusive pocket revolvers on the market.
This thing is a spitfire with full-power .357 Magnum loads, but I absolutely love it. I will most times carry this as a backup carry gun on my ankle or when I'm wearing a suit, since it's a bit easier to conceal carry than a semi-auto. They are fantastic options for wanting to be armed but conceal easily with almost no weight to the guns. I ended up carrying this 340 PD 37 times this year, making it number 5 out of everyone.
4. Glock 19
What can I say about the Glock 19 that hasn't already been said before? Often referred to as the perfect carry gun, any generation of the Glock 19 is a great option with a full backing of aftermarket support. The Glock 19 is about as customizable as it gets and you can find any attachment or aftermarket part possible to make it 100% your gun. With the newest generation of Glocks coming out, the 6th gen offers more stippling and features, making it the evolution of one of the best carry guns around. These guns just plain work under any circumstance and for that very reason, they are fantastic to rely on every single day.
Whether you're a new shooter or someone looking for a simple, reliable option, these guns are never going to disappoint. The one I carried this year is my trusty Gen 4 Glock 19 in FDE with a Jagerwerks Slide cut and a Trijicon RMR on top. Usually, I will also carry a SureFire X300 on the gun and that's what travels with me when I go across the country. I had this guy roughly 44 days out of the year so far.
3. Wilson Combat P365 2.0
One of the guns that flew under the radar to you guys was the new Wilson Combat P365 2.0 that I haven't even written up a proper review about. I actually picked this little semi-auto pocket rocket up from Wilson with everything already installed. This model comes with a Radian Ramjet and a bronze barrel straight from the factory, along with their slide and frame setup. Other upgrades include a grip module as well as internal springs upgraded and an enhanced trigger. I don't typically go for really flashy carry guns like this, but I have honestly loved shooting and carrying this gun. The pinky extension on the standard frame gives me just enough of a grip on the gun to make it feel like I have a full-size grip while being really easy to conceal with nothing more than a T-shirt and shorts on.
For the capacity, I ended up taking this gun out a ton in the summer when those summer days were up in the 90+ range with no problems of chaffing or my skin being irritated with an IWB holster. The only thing I would warn against is making sure your holster clears with the Ramjet installed. A couple of my holsters snagged on the comp, but once I tried the right holster, it was a dream to carry. This year, I ended up carrying the Wilson Combat P365 2.0 for a total of 56 days and I absolutely enjoyed it.
2. SIG Sauer P226X Carry
For the number 2 spot, it turned out to be the shorter version of my absolute favorite handgun, which is the P226X Carry. When I first heard of this gun, I was puzzled by why they made such an odd combination. While it shoots like a full-size P225 X-Five, it honestly carries like my P229 Legion since the slide length is almost identical to a 229 series. It feels like this perfect balance between a full-size gun at the range and something a bit lighter and easier to carry than a standard 226.
I wrote a full write-up of the P226X Carry a couple of months ago and have carried it pretty consistently ever since I started testing that gun. It's a fantastic gun and if you prefer metal-framed hammer-fired guns, it's truly hard to beat with the Romeo X red dot and upgraded trigger from the factory. If I had to name the biggest shock of 2025, it would certainly have to be the SIG Sauer P226X Carry without a doubt. In 2025, I carried the P226X Carry for a total of 102 days.
1. Glock 48
So it all comes down to number one, but are you surprised? I have said how much I love the Glock 48 and honestly, with the Shield Arms 15-round magazines, it's truly the best of everything in terms of size, capacity and just overall options. Having an MOS cut, I can put any optic on that I want and I personally love the Trijicon RMRcc on this gun for its narrow profile to keep things compact. I didn't switch out the trigger or frame parts to keep things original and put an aftermarket slide on it for the texture, but everything else is stock from the factory. The reason this gets grabbed instead of other options is the fact that it's simple to carry but has the capacity of something larger, like a Glock 19.
It may not be everyone's favorite and that's totally acceptable to have your own preferences, but for me, this gun just does it. The aftermarket support is endless as well, so you can do almost anything you want from upgraded triggers, barrels, slides and anything else you could desire. The overall thin profile of this gun, combined with being able to have a comfortable full grip purchase on the gun, allows me to carry it all day without any sort of fatigue or uncomfortable rubbing that may happen with the larger, heavier handguns on this list. Out of the year, I carried my Glock 48 a total of 126 days, making it the number one gun I carried all year.
Overall Thoughts
I had this idea to keep a record of what guns I carry the most and write them down with tallys under them. You may have completely different choices than I do and it's always interesting to hear what you guys carry and why. I gave you a brief rundown of why I carry these guns above, but let me know what you carry and why down in the comments below. I appreciate you making it this far and if you have questions about carrying guns, don't hesitate to shoot me a message on Instagram @fridgeoperato r. Stay safe out there and we will see you next week for another edition of Concealed Carry Corner.
