If we asked you to do a “pocket dump,” what would be a part of your everyday carry (EDC) collection? Most people have the basics – keys, wallet, cellphone, maybe a CCW handgun – but fail to carry an EDC knife or flashlight. In terms of defense, an EDC flashlight is just as important as a handgun or knife. It is a tool for escalated situations to not only fix your truck on the side of the road, but also to blind Creeper McCreepyFace in the Mcdonald’s parking lot when you’re buying some chicken nuggies. For scenarios like your late-night chicken cravings and much more, the new Streamlight Wedge XT everyday carry flashlight will be right up your alley.

Streamlight @ TFB:

The Streamlight Wedge XT as an EDC flashlight is thin, ergonomic, fits in your hand, and can be easily produced from a pocket. You receive a pocket lanyard, a USC-C cord, and Streamlight’s Limited Lifetime Warranty. The Wedge XT can be run in a High (500 Lumens) and Low (50 Lumens) setting plus it can be recharged in under 6 hours when the battery goes dead. Some of the other specs can be read below as presented by Streamlight:

  • High Lumens: 500 (2 Hour Run Time)
  • Low Lumens: 50 (11 Hour Run Time)
  • Beam Distance: 87 Meters
  • Max Candela: 1,900
Streamlight Wedge XT Everyday Carry Flashlight - MSRP $155
  • Battery Type: Lithium Polymer Cell
  • Length: 4.25″
  • Weight: 2.62 Ounces
  • Colors: Black, Coyote

The Wedge® XT is an ultra-compact, high-performance EDC light designed for clean pocket carry. It’s USB-C rechargeable and outfitted with a tactical push-button tail switch for easy, one-handed use. Made of rugged anodized aluminum with a waterproof charge port, the Wedge XT balances durability with performance.

Flashlights are more valuable than people think beyond just finding the keys to your house on your front porch. They can be deployed as a defensive tool and have a minimal footprint when you seek out one as small as the Streamlight Wedge XT. Also, at an MSRP of $155, this model is affordable as well. As always, let us know all of your thoughts in the Comments below! We always appreciate your feedback.

I’ve got the full size wedge and while it’s in my edc pack next to my Microtech, I’ve found the Olight Arkfeld to be a better option. It offers more modes of illumination and a really handy 5 lumen mode that can stay on for weeks.

Might be interested if it wasn't made in China like the rest of Streamlight's product line, but unfortunately, I'm sure it is.
