Nice addition but the name seems a bit off. From what I understand, this seems like a pretty vanilla variant just with a short-ish barrel. Which yeah, is well suited for driven hunts but that doesn't say much. The most common rifles for driven hunts here are bog standard bolt actions with a lpvo/rds and a suppressor. No special "driven hunt" variants. Experienced hunters with specialized rifles often go either of two routes depending on application (driving or shooting from a stand): long-ish, not too light barrel with a medium to high velocity cartridge and a suppressor. Basically, you want something that swings steadily and minimal lead when shooting running game. Or a short-ish barrel with a medium to big bore cartridge that without a suppressor and irons or an rds. Basically, something handy that won't be cumbersome in the underbrush and will stop a pissed off boar in its tracks.
A lot of words to come to the point that yes, this seems to be well configured for driven hunts, but so are most other bolt actions around these parts anyway.
Has anyone seen an Impulse in person? I've been waiting for these to hit LGS' walls since the day they were announced.
