Chiappa WILDLANDS Series Lever Action Rifles (1211)

In their 2020 catalog, Chiappa Firearms has a new series of lever-action rifles called Wildlands. Currently, this series includes four rifles: two Winchester Model 1892 replicas, a takedown 1892 and a takedown 1886. What sets these series apart from other Chiappa lever guns is that these are modernized guns packing some features that modern-day hunters demand.

The Wildlands series rifles come with threaded barrels and barrel mounted Picatinny rail sections that are suitable for attaching red dot sights or scout scopes. These rifles are also equipped with iron sights: Skinner aperture rear sights and fiber optic front sights. The furniture geometry is also hanged compared to their historical counterparts. Particularly, the forend has a triangular shape enlarged towards the rear and a flat bottom surface. Let’s see what model-specific features each of the Wildlands rifles has.

It looks terrible! Lever guns that are supposed to be copies of the famed 1886 and 1892 Winchester are not with laminated stocks! They are supposed to be of nice wood stocks and should be side ejection AND like Henry has discovered both the tube loading AND the side loading type. I was interested enough to look hoping that they would have some great prices and historically correct lever action rifles and carbines but all I saw was highly overpriced garbage.

I can almost forgive them for not making a full length tube version. Sexy looking, i admit. 2020-- Viva la levergun!
