Warne Expands Maxima Horizontal Family With Quick-Detach Rings

Warne Scope Mounts is adding quick-detach capability to one of its most trusted ring lines. The new Maxima Horizontal QD Rings bring the company's indexable lever system to the Maxima Horizontal platform, giving hunters and field shooters tool-free optic removal without trading away the return-to-zero guarantee the original rings are known for.

The QD lever system is the same design Warne uses across its existing quick-detach lineup, meaning the mechanism is proven. The indexing feature allows shooters to position the lever clear of controls or for a preferred hand orientation, a practical detail that often gets overlooked in basic QD designs.

Construction follows the standard Maxima formula: high-strength steel bodies with a square stainless-steel recoil control key. The square key geometry is a design choice that resists rotation under recoil more effectively than round or conical alternatives, and steel construction means these rings can handle hard-use bolt guns and magnum calibers. Finish is matte across all SKUs.

The lineup covers nine configurations across three tube diameters and three heights. One-inch rings handle the majority of traditional hunting optics, 30mm serves the bulk of modern riflescopes, and 34mm covers larger tube precision and hunting glass. Low, Medium, and High height options within each diameter give shooters the clearance flexibility to fit objectives from compact to 56mm-class without stacking adapters or shims.

"The Maxima Horizontal Ring has earned a reputation for strength, reliability, and simplicity," said Will Hemeyer, Director of Sales at Warne. "With the addition of our proven quick detach lever system, shooters can now enjoy the same rugged performance with the added convenience of tool-free removal and reinstallation while maintaining confidence in their zero."

All rings are manufactured in Tualatin, Oregon. Warne has been producing scope mounts domestically since 1991.

Would you run steel QD rings on a field hunting rifle, or do you prefer to lock in and leave it?

These rings work great, and they absolutely return to zero. But they are HEAVY. As in outweigh the scope heavy.
